Did she? I was under the impression that
she only considers it but he just looks at her and says "don't even think about it" and she glumly sits back. But I could be wrong.

she waits til he is "sleeping" and picks up a rock but he wakes up and takes it away from her. then threatens her and wraps her in a blanket when he goes to sleep. I am glad they are keeping this stuff since it was hilarious/badass/awesome

Yes. Yes I do. If not him, someone in his service.
all spies use code. Using a language unknown in the North is similar to the US using Native American/First Nations languages in WWII. They've combined all the Westerlings. She's the bride, the one that dies at the RW and the Lannister loyalist parents all wrapped into one character.

It's possible.

I don't believe in the theory however.

Yeah. It's funny, I didn't remember it like that, but I like what they (seem to, based on the preview) do in the show... then it turns out, it IS like that in the book. Tee hee. xD

Oh btw, y'all noticed the Rains of Castamere playing near the end right? I got a chill hearing that again. That rendition was quite nice too.

I meant purely psychological. I'm not squeamish at all, but I'm getting tired of watching Theon get sliced and diced every week.

Well, what do you propose, then? The torturer loves his bait & switches, and his MO practically always ends in physical torture. "You thought you were gonna escape? Too bad, let's slice you up some more. You thought you correctly guessed my identity? Too bad, I'm taking a finger." Besides, physical torture IS psychological torture. You can have psychological torture without physical torture but not the other way around.

I'd say that confirms it.

And I enjoyed the episode a lot. Glad Theon's scene wasn't as horrifying as I feared.
Oh wow. Yeah, wow. Nice job producers. This makes the
Talisa/Lannister Kids
scene take on another level entirely.

This show is very reminiscent of Arrested Development, where they put in details that let you catch all sorts of things on a rewatch w/ more information.

ADWD
The important parts of the slicing and dicing are done. I guess they may go down the path of taking fingers and toes, but taking fingers presents a logistical challenge for shooting scenes, so I imagine they'll skip it.

From here on out I'm guessing they'll move on to turning him into Reek, which is purely psychological, based on the threat of physical dismemberment. A threat which rings a lot more true after going to these lengths to show the physical torture.

lol 10/10 would watch

For all you believing ASOS/Show Spoilers
the Talisa is a spy business, here is her letter to her Mother. You think Tywin knows Valyrian? Link

SOS/Show
according to the honeypot theory talisa is the daughter of a volantenese mother and a lannister father. And for all we know the lannisters could have valyrian translators.

I liked it but if it wasn't for the posts in here I wouldn't have recognized it. I think know after seeing both scenes they should have played the punk bear and a maiden fair this episode and this instrumental castamere after his hand got cut

I really liked all the dialogue in this episode. It's been a while since I read the book but it seems like a lot of dialogue was rewritten. Especially early in the episode.

I hate when people start bitching and moaning about changes from the books. "Oh they had to do this because they need to hire an actor." I think characters like Shae that have a bigger stage on the show are actually better than the books. And the wildling girl hanging out with Bran. And Jeyne being pregnant. I really think a lot of that works better in the show than it did in the books.

For the record, I think watching Theon break down ADWD
is way more interesting than having him just show up as Reek. He's just a cartoon character in the book, when he showed up again I was just like "ok, that's cool I guess". That's the other thing I don't get about book changes. A lot of things would come out cheesy and cartoony in the show, which takes itself a little more seriously than the books.

And Dany was boring in both. At least she's surrounded by interesting people.

Theon/Boy and Jaime/Qyburn were the highlights of the week

Didn't really like much else and the Bear pit was KIND OF disappointing. Would have preferred to see them wound it some more and then toss Vargo wannabe in there.

I accept that things need to be changed for television, but to call the book versions of these events as cartoony doesn't make any sense at all. I don't understand how you came to the conclusion that the show takes itself more seriously than a series whose running motif is more or less nihilistic suffering.

We're talking about a show that had a softcore porn scene prior to Theon's little surgery, and a multiple-episode running gag about a squire's stupefying skills in bed. Obviously the books have their humor as well, but more cartoony? Especially Theon's ordeal?

ADWD:
The girls seducing Theon worked well and it fits in with the type of thing Ramsay would do. Ramsay enjoys inflicting suffering in both the physical and mental. If it came off cartoony it's because of the excessive nudity in this particular episode. That Robb/Jeyne scene went on a little long for one without much to offer plot wise. At least with Theon you can see how Ramsay is fucking with him.

Btw, I like what they're doing with Ramsay and Theon even if I feel they could yet be more graphic. Get used to it. This will continue for one-two more seasons. Reek's reveal worked for me in the book because George didn't make it clear right away it was Theon. And you got a lot of info from Reek's pov informing us what's happened to him since we've last seen him. Can't just bring back Theon 3-4 seasons from season 2 and expect people to understand/appreciate what's happened to him without showing it.

"Hey look everyone it's me Theon now known as Reek. I've been tortured... At least it looks that way. Do you remember me?"

So judging by the preview, the wedding of Joffrey and Margery is next week. Book Spoiler
So I'm guessing that Joffrey will finally kick the bucked in the next episode.

I know a lot of people are going to be happy if that's the case.

The whole showing up out of nowhere as Dr.Seuss thing was kind of cartoony to me.

Theon scene in this episode started kinda hot, and got hotter and hotter, but then it abruptly ended. I'm so dissapointed.

Talisa's ass was so distracting, i couldn't care less about anything else in that scene.

I really thought they were going with having his dick already cut off and the girls were just there to fuck with him. That's why I thought they said everyone was talking about it, that everyone there knew his dick was cut off. I wanted to see him break down crying when the girl was riding him.

I laugh every time the dude plays the vuvuzela, though. So perfect.

I just found it disturbing as you realize that he has been fucked with to the point of barely being a human being anymore

Slow episode, the Bear fight was kind of a letdown after all the hype I had for it, but enjoyed it otherwise.

I actually liked Theon's scene. ADWD
If for nothing else, just the knowledge of knowing Alfie can pull off an awesome Reek. That "please" from him was heartbreaking. :(

That was the shit brah. Best storyline in Dance.

That would've been a lot better. There would've been a purpose to all the humping then.

Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but I think I'll like it better now that they're earning it more.

Also, I didn't care about the bear fight in the book. I liked all the stuff before, though, and they blew me away with that in the show. I think a lot of us agree Jamie's monologue was the highlight of the season so far.

No. That will be next season.

I agree for the most part. All the changes from the books seem to have made sense and have actually made the whole thing better so far. I expect this to continue as things become... (later books)
a lot less focused and a heck of a lot more drawn out and unsuitable for TV.

Except Jaime should be blonde.

Actually now that I think about it, we're just about coming up on where I start liking Dany in the books and things really get going. It's still gonna be a while until I'm completely invested AFFC
My favorite Dany scene is the revelation that her dragons have been eating children to continue growing which pretty much redeemed the whole stinker of a book for me

...ish. I'm looking for any specific events that happen in this season, but I assume nobody's talked yet. Augh. The Frey Wedding probably will be the last episode or episode 9 at this rate.

If you look at the episode names, it's not hard to puzzle out two of the big remaining events this year
The Red Wedding and sack of Yunkai

Ah. That helps a lot. So, looks like the next episode will probably involve lots of Dany, and the 9th episode will involve lots of Robb. Ugggnnggngnnngng

Yep, and the nine thousand awesome things that happen in the second half of ASOS will have to wait til next year.
