I just want to add Jake being in the same position was odd. We've seen people move around at LTT, Linus clearly doesn't have a problem promoting people should they put in the work but Jake from day 1 just seemed to be this handyman/general labour do everything but specialize in nothing that happens at places - and while I'm not saying that's worth nothing, what it does start to say "what do you do here? You're all over the place" and he never found his "place" like everyone who promoted there did.

My issue with Jake is this.

He seems to have little grasp of what Linus has actually provided him. He joined at 16 and has little to no grasp of the job world outside of LTT. Without Linus, he would be a random youtuber online who might have a few 1000 subscribers....basically a nobody. He would be making no money from the platform and would have to have a dayjob to make ends meat, which in Vancouver is likely damn near impossible. The exposure he got from LTT basically gave a lift that many talented content providers will never get and those who do get it have to wait YEARS and YEARS.

Was Jake underpaid? Possibly? Probably? Who knows? I can't say, but I hope his channel takes off and that he can successfully forge his own path....thanks largely to the exposure he got by Linus.

FWIW even the one staff member who left (Anthony, now Emily) left because she didn't want to cause drama for transitioning on screen was the one who did it professionally lol.
