Games you remember, names you don't

First person PC adventure game.. you play as a detective or something in a futuristic environment with aliens and lots of intrigue, I believe there are dialogue trees, and I think the protagonist has some kind of psychic abilities. I believe a key environment was a bar.
Deus Ex?

Much older. Might not even have been 3D rendered graphics. And a lot more just like... talking to people for clues... and I think there were super weird looking aliens. :P

Bump, but hopefully somebody will know because this game wasn't well known afaik... I played this on a Dreamcast demo disc a long long time ago, it was an adventure game kind of like Monkey Island, was 2D and was very funny. The game had "kiddy" character designs (sort of like Monster Inc.) but was to be taken with a serious tone (etc Conkers), hopefully somebody knows, I would love to play the full game!

I did post about this games in this other thread, but I'll repost it here

Ok... I think this one is going to be hard, because I can't remember that much.

Game was on PC, probably early 90's ... sidescrolling platformer with medieval setting.

I think that I remember some kind of item managment upon metting certain character mid level, but i'm not so sure. Could be an item seller, don't know. Maybe it had a grid template (squares).

And... that's it =/

Remember playing the demo, and for some reason it got stucked in my head.

TheOneGuy and A Black Falcon recommended Dark Ages, but I can't try it (yet... have some problems with DOS software in Vista 64). So, if anyone has an idea of the game... please let me know. Thanks !

okay, this one has been bugging me for some time now :

Sit down arcade game, i'd guess circa very early 80s.

All i remember was that it was something like Space Invaders (at least, there was some sort of alien shooting), and you had four "bases" at the bottom of the screen (not barriers!) that were armed with bombs.

The panel infront of you had four red buttons which you used to set off each of the bombs.

I think every now and then a mother ship would float across the screen.

Can anyone help ?

I've played this game, but can't recall the title. Now I'm annoyed too :lol

DOSBox doesn't work in Vista 64? I'd think it would...

That reminds me ofStupid Invaders. It was based off of a cartoon I watched as a kid maybe 12 or so years ago. I don't think it was 2D, though.

Sorry to bump this.

But I've tried for ages to find this game.

Basically, it's a fishing game on either the PS1 or PS2. We used to sit there for hours playing.

Everytime you caught a fish, depending on the size of it, it would say:

Big
Small
Huge
Massive

Etc

Please help, someone else must have been as sad as us to play this game aswell. Been bugging me and my mates for years. :lol

I remember playing a game like that on the dreamcast or something. Game was awesome.

Don't remember the name though...

Thinking of a game where you're on a flying carpet. From the mid to late 90's, its a 3-d game with a really short draw distance. I want to say you're collecting orbs or something, fire, wind, water, that sort of thing.

Is this Konami's Fisherman's Bait: A Bass Challenge (Exciting Bass in Japan) for the PS1?

I loved this game and its two sequels, Fisherman's Bait 2: Big Ol' Bass and Big Ol' Bass 2.

Help GAF!

So I just got the GF a DS for Christmas and I am looking for the name of a game I heard about on GAF, I haven't played it before so technically I don't remember it but I thought this was the best thread to ask in.

Anyway it was in some Girlage thread the guy said he brought his DS to a party and tried to play a game with this girl he liked that made you put your cheeks together to play and that it was weird to do with your friends. Thats all I know about it! Any idea what it is?

Thanks!

Edit: My internet digging has lead me to the game: Wario Ware Snapped - sounds about right gaf?

There was some SNES game I played way back when, it was 2 player, you could choose between a Knight (I think he had an Axe), an Archer who was green, and a mage of some sort. The only enemy I remember is some kinda of green gooey creature...it was a side scrolling beat'm up kind of game.

I played this game for super famicom, I dont think it came out in the US.

it was a JRPG, and the battle system was like not menu based... like you move around and stuff... and hit an attack button?? I cant remember...

I think one of the characters u play as looked like Sparkster...

I remember this old FMV adventure game for the PC. The only thing I can recall from it was that there was this one point where you had to play a poker game with some gangsters that shot you if you lost. On the last hand, they declared that nobody folds and shot you if you folded. I think there was another part where they all stood up and said something in unison before they shot you. Also, when you were shot, the screen showed a skull and crossbones or something like that and a siren noise was playing.

This game was a light gun game on an earlier Sega console. Don't know if it was Genesis or not. There was a car chase scene where the mafia is chasing you and you have to take them out using a light gun.

I don't really remember anything else and I'm sorry if it's pretty vague.

I played this demo for the PS2 once. It was an FPS, and all I remember is that I was walking down a hallway and like, a ghost of a little girl showed up and my heart-rate (I think?) increased. I couldn't do anything but walk forward a little bit, very slowly. I proceeded to have a heart attack and die.

Wow. I was gutted when I read your first reply after your PM. Then came the second and was overjoyed.

Clicked the vid link and quote on here, as soon as I heard the first sound it brought back memories, clicked the youtube to see the vid and it's deffo the one.

Thanks for your reply in this post and PM.. :)

I'm trying to remember a game:

-It was for the Genesis I think (but it may have been SNES or both, for some reason it sticks out in my mind that I couldn't have it for some reason, and when I read about it, all I had was an SNES and GameBoy).
-Sidescroller/Platformer
-Took place in a cruise ship
-Parts of the game had you going through this ship as it was upside down
-Reminds me of the movies Titanic or Poseidon

Thanks!

S.O.S. Sink or Swim for the SNES?

EDIT: There was another one simply named S.O.S.!

You controlled a cartoony looking guy, it started on a ship, it was for amiga. I remember it as being awesome but dont remember much about it. There is also this other game for amiga where you were a huge monster and could destroy everything and eat people (not rampage).

SOS? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsaw-w3dB0M

Was for SNES, but it wasn't a platformer

No one can ever remember my game.

- arcade game
- played a realistic looking dinosaur in a realistic world, no fantasy/sci-fi elements
- "beat-em-up"
- modern age graphics, was in a local arcade in 2004/5/6.

I remember watching a friend choose a T-rex/Allosaurus and the character was running along, fighting off raptors that stormed at him, then walked into a water area where he was fighting snapping crocodiles.

I swear I didn't make it up.

Quarantine?

There was a game I played on the PSone around maybe 97~99.

- it was a puzzle game where you played an orange haired kid that I think was scared of the dark

- gameplay consisted of using your electricity gun to kill darkness bases mobs and also to solve some puzzles

- some CG sequences and in the second half of the game you got the ability to shoot fireballs

- main character would sometimes shout " Amigo "

That's pretty much all I remember :/, wanna play it again for nostalgia!

Heart of Darkness?

Hey, I'm looking for this really awesome indie game, it's like half SMB half Braid. I remember some sort of other worldly stuff, kind of dark, that's all I've got, any ideas?

I remember a game that you could play with either a boy or a girl in pyjamas and you had to walk through different worlds and levels that I believe were dreams or something.

It was something like 99 tears, 99 dreams, 99 spirits...

I believe I played it on the PS1...

Can anyone help with the name of a late 90's golf game for the PC, only it featured a driving range where you racked up a high-score by blowing up hot air ballons and other random shit.

I play this game on the NES with my dad when I was like 5 years old, haven't played it since.

-It was a side scroller shooter with big red bullets

-I think you were shirtless

-It was 2 players

-I think the first level boss was a big, long green helicopter and you had to shoot its side guns off

-Maybe there was a level where you would look down a hall type of view and shoot enemies that came from both sides of it

I honestly hardly even remember it since I was like 5 years old the last time I played it.

I hope someone has an idea of what I'm talking about. :lol

Sounds like a mix between Contra (the hall thing) and Super Contra (the green helicopter). Also know as Gryzor

I just remember a level where you were going along a grey sidewalk, and there were 2 levels and a building at the top where baddies would pop out of black doors and from both sides of the screen. Then you got to the end and you kill this green helo.

Plus, holy crap I can't believe it was Super Contra AND Contra all this time. :lol

Thanks for helping me figure out this game. Man so many good memories and nostalgia all at once came flooding back.

Around 1:12 is when the heli I remember shows up. For some reason I remember it as green. *shrugs*

What was that game where you shoot up vertical beams to break balls into smaller balls while they bounce all over the place?

Top Bottom
