Games you remember, names you don't

Well there's a very similar game to that on the BBC micro called Numeric Invaders, but I doubt it was an official port in any regard. My best guess is an early iteration of Math Blaster. Note that that series has been going for a while with very similarly-titled products (Math Blaster!, Math Blaster Plus!, New Math Blaster Plus!, Mega Math Blaster) - so make sure you're looking at the right one when comparing it with your memory.
I've looked at videos of Math Blaster and it doesn't look like I remember. The game I played was in space and you shot enemies which were floating/flying maths sums, I'm pretty sure.

hopefully this is one that's already been asked before or is rather well known.

It was a 16 bit style sidescroller, played it on DOS between 1992 and 1994, rather gritty/dark looking. You played as a killer robot (I seem to remember he looked kinda like Johnny 5 in overall design) and got mechanical upgrades at the end of each level. There may have been some choice as to what kind of upgrades you could get.

Kinda sounds like Metal Mutant or Robozone, but I'm not really sure.

Does anyone remember the game that didn't work very well on consoles that when someone complained on twitter a developer said something like "when a game I like doesn't work on a console, I'll buy it for a platform it does"? I think it was earlier this year.

I vaguely remember this Japan-only SNES game where you control this red demon-looking character (an Oni I guess?) with a Zelda style top down view. I think it was a puzzle game?
For some reason I keep thinking it was one of those SNES Satellaview games too. I came across it long, long ago when checking random roms online.

Anyone might have an idea what this could've been called? And no, it's not Demon's Crest :P
Just posting because I finally figured out that it was Power Soukoban. Yeah, turns out it was just a Sokoban game for the SNES and entirely not Satellaview related.

I wonder if publisher Nintendo or Thinking Rabbit (now absored into Square I think?) owns the rights for that game now.

Then there is this other game. All same details except character was green, maybe some kind of lizard, walking on two legs though. You could collect something red round things, apples maybe. One level was in forest i think. Character had probably, something red in his head.

Your description reminds me of Super Frog. He's green, walks on two legs, has a red cape and collects all types of fruit.

There was a JRPG for the PS1 that had artwork that was like all watercolor. It was beautiful, and I lost the disc somehow and never got to play it, and forgot about it. Anybody?

I'm not sure anyone answered this, but it might be Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure if it's not Superfrog, as suggested above. Vaguely lizardy alien, red mohawk (and red suction cups on his hands)

Does anyone remember a certain game, that just lighted up in the back of my head? It was ... set in an alien arena where factions had to fight each other on battlefields. You could get favours from outside. And I think it was RTS. Graphic was already dated when I played it 6-7 years ago. Not very specific, but it's rubbing me the wrong way.

I was watching a game on youtube about three years ago that looked interesting, but I can't seem to remember what it was called. I never actually played this game, and it was three years ago so my memory might be off a little.

It was a vertical split screen puzzle game. There was what appeared to be wires and logic gates that needed to be adjusted as a spark made it's way along the wire. By adjusting the various gates the spark would go along different wires and towards a target. In the center of the screen was a female cyborg head. The stages had names of emotions, such as "sorrow" and "lust." The cyborg would make faces to match the name of the stage. The graphics looked like something out of the late 90s or early 2000s, though it might have been a newer game made to look retro. I seem to recall techo music, but not sure about this.

Thanks to anyone that can help!

This one might be a little weird and I'm not sure if it released, but I remember watching a video on IGN a year or so ago where the developers walked them through their adventure game with a pixel art style, in which a group of friends were hanging out and you could select different conversation options. Might have been on a beach? I seem to remember a campfire. They eventually decided to explore this cave which was beyond this forbidden area, with peer pressure kind of playing a part in whether you join in on that. I seem to remember it getting kind of crazier as they went closer to the entrance / slightly inside, and it gave me a Kentucky Route Zero vibe. There may have been a dimensional rift thing, or time travel, or something?
HEY ME! The game is called OXENFREE and it looks incredible. Here's the video! http://assets.ign.com/videos/zencoder/1920/9c18bd28305b4d93459dbd073cbe78ea-5000000-1431037264-w.mp4

My first thought is one of the stages of Purple Saturn Day.

Doesn't quite fit, though. Wonder if it was inspired by it?

Wasn't there an RPG on SNES or sometime in that gen where the combat would be like a 2D Tales game and the two heroes were two guys, one in a red suit and the other in a blue one?

A sega genesis game with a reptile character with dual machine guns and a generic white character with a big assault gun. Remember all but that game.

Hey!
It was a "animal food chain" kind of game: You had to pick an animal and run through a jungle/maze escaping from the predators.

You could pick higher-up in the food chain animals (tiger , bear?), and smaller ones (bunnys?). From what i remember, movement was tile based, lots of green!
~91-92. No idea if win 3.1 or dos.

Animal Quest?

(There's an EGA version, too, that looks a bit different)

This was my first guess as well, but interestingly enough, Cryo also made Extase which sounds even more similar, yet a lot of the details seem different.

Doom Troopers?

Just checked and that's the one. Was that game even good. Just a blur to me.

It's one of those insanely, brutally difficult games of the era, it's pretty janky IMO. I've always liked it for the style and large amounts of gore, but don't think I've ever actually gotten past the third level. Btw, it's based on the Mutant Chronicles pen and paper RPG, there's also a bunch of comics, books and a movie.

Forgive me on how vague this is, but I'm trying to track down a FPS for the 360. I never actually played the retail release just a multiplayer beta released in maybe the late 2000's or early 2010's?(again not 100% sure).

I remember liking it quite a bit because you could do ridiculously long slides and jump super high. I think, by most standards, it could be considered pretty bland. I just remembered playing the beta and want to see if it was as fun as i remember. I think the character models were all black? I think one of the levels was on some roofs with some greenhouses on it?

Totally not surprised if no one can give me a name. Worth a shot though.

That's the one! Yeah, some of the details were off. My memory ain't what it used to be.

Thanks for the help, everyone.

I'm looking for the name of a game, I only played a demo of. It was for PC and was a third-person Action-Adventure with swords and stuff. Backgrounds were prerendered iirc and the game came out 96 (at least the demo). The guy you played had black hair and did wear a red jacket/armor or something.

edit: could also be 95.

edit2: found it : Chronicles of the Sword

This box reminds me of a game I've been trying to track down too!

I never actually played the game but I remember seeing the box for it in our local GAME years back.

As far as I can remember it was a space shooter but the detail that got me the most was that it featured music by Dog Eat Dog and/or possibly Pop Will Eat Itself. It was for pc and would have been around the time of Windows 95 being introduced. It was also in the old style big boxes.

The only games I remember with a similar soundtrack are the Loaded series so please someone tell me that I haven't just dreamt this.

Found it!
The game was Nihilist.

A game announced around the time of The Martian's release that was similar to the film. I can't think of it but it was procedural and had astronauts exploring and building stations and what have you. Planeteer or something but that brings up Captain Planet search results. It's bugging me.

Astroneer! Found it.

I played this one particular game when I was with my parents, visiting a friend of theirs, roughly a decade ago (maybe 2003/2004). It was like some sort of 2.5D/3D fighting game, with monsters of the sort as (part of?) the roster. I think it was either for the N64 or Gamecube (leaning towards the latter).

All I remember is that what little I played of it, I was really good with one character in particular, who had what I found to be a rather neat "victory" stance.

Was it cartoon ish or Anime looking? Or was is a more mature look? Let me take a guess with:

Bloody Roar
Zatch Bell Mamodo battles

I take it it's not War of the Monsters (PS2 exclusive)? A version of Primal Rage? Bloody Roar?

I remember an old RTS/RPG game on PC way back in day like must have been early 2000's i got the demo on a pc mag disc you had like different champions/heroes it was sort of like diablo. thats really all I can remember but ive been dying to find it again.

Sounds like Warcraft 3 as it is a RTS with RPG elements but i have no idea if there were demo discs for it.

Girlfriend is trying to figure out an old PC game she played as a kid (would be the early 90s).

Her clues were:

red hat (beret) and can't see face of protagonist
Blue body
Gorillas
Machines
Bananas
Blimps

I have no clue what she's talking about and think she is bananas.

If I get this, I'm going to be so chuffed.

I reckon this is Super Solvers: Gizmos And Gadgets. Even if it's not, my hunch is that the protagonist is indeed the Super Solvers protagonist.

Edit: Just checked some images to remind myself of more of it, and this is a dead giveaway I've got it:

Even if it's not right, that's an incredible match for the information given.

Does anyone remember this game, I never played it but saw a trailer for it. The weird thing is that the trailer for the game was on a movie DVD. It's a PC game and the trailer had two robots in what looked like ancient ruins. They were very tribal and their movements and running and everything made it seem like they were hunting or being hunted.

It looked really cool and for a while I thought it was for a new movie, but when the movie never came out I looked for the DVD again, found it and discovered it was for a PC game that came out. I can't remember the name now and I'm hoping someone here remembers the game so I don't have to fish out the DVD again because I can't remember which movie it was on.

Does anyone know about this game? Was it any good?

I think it took a mature/"realistic" look, it wasn't cartoonish or animeish. I'm not entirely sure if it was Bloody Roar, I don't recall animal transformations happening in the game.

Really vague here but I remember a game like Golden Xxe but more in the perhaps N64-Xbox type of graphics you play a variety of different heroes with different abilities it was 3D and in third person..I for the life of me can't remember many details of it just know I really liked it >.<
Slightly dark looking sorta game loot chests that sorta thing.

This is it! (and now I'm getting scorned for calling her bananas). Thanks!

Staying home sick from work, going through Giant Bomb videos.

Watching the Wheel of Fortune one, reminds me of a futuristic version with aliens and stuff. Maybe mid 90s? On PC? Anyone?

I remember playing this sandbox game on a PS1 demo disk. The game was based in a desert and I believe you could build and create pyramids
