Just saw this on my FB feed...

"between god and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth"

I mean, come on! It's right on there! What part of 'every living creature' is not clear?

Can nobody rainbow me?

Is it not possible or something?

I'll trans gay love you forever :-(

Or whatever you like, it's all good to me.

Hooray!

By the way, is there a best video to send to family members and friends who are salty to try to convince them not to be?

Something like The Young Turks but less abrasive? The instant I sent family members and friends something that mentioned a sky god or imaginary being, they would click X and backlash hard. I wish YT wasn't so abrasive and preaching to the choir. Anyone have a video commentator better than that?

This thread here has a lot of posters who used to be anti-gay but were convinced not to be by this forum. Some people need to be talked into it.

I usually don't ask for this type of thing, but can somebody make my duck a little more....gay? Maybe a rainbow duck or something.

This is my favorite sentence of the day.

Like, to each their own, if gays want to marry then that's fine by me. But seeing the GAF logo change now? That's like the prime example of shoving things down out throats, no pun intended. I'm happy for them, but come on.

If you're okay with gays getting married, why is it a wound to you? That's like saying "I'm okay with someone shooting me in the head".

And if you're okay with gays getting married you should be okay with the moderation team at NeoGAF believing gay marriage passing should be celebrated.

I kind of second this.

My wife's family are very Southern Christian and it's weird to see such nice people be complete cunts about something like this. And I'm getting called out as a "bully" for "gloating". I asked them if you lost a game and the other person celebrated, would that be bad? "Well not if they were gloating". Okay, then remember that next time you go out for pizza when your daughter wins her softball game.

It's not weird to me because I know they get taught "homosexuality is a sin" by the church from when they're children. I know my little sister hears that every week at church. She, my younger cousins, other family members, and friends are usually very malleable but not when it comes to the bible being wrong. It would have to be presented to them in a way other than "The bible has a bunch of bad contradictory shit all made up from thin air by barbaric stupid people" I don't know how to do that because that's what I believe about it.

Quotes from Jesus saying not to judge others would be a good thing that might have some effect, for an example of what I'm thinking of. I'm so not comfortable though with trying to explain away the heinous parts of the bible by referencing other better parts.

I don't understand how it can't be simplified as "people who love each other want to get married but can't and there's zero reason beyond religion that they can't". Religions also are against divorce, but no one stands up against that.

To me, it's like "yes, according to your religion it's a sin, but since when does the church punish those who sin?".

I think a lot of what runs through my mind when I listen to the really religious people getting super emotional and biblical with their hatred is sadness for them. I used to work in a small music store in Florida and the majority of our customers were older. For whatever reason, the store owners and costumers would frequently talk politics and they really could not see how, to a non-religious person (or less-religious), how utterly insane they come off as.

Constantly saying how we're all doomed, and only the King can save us from Satan, and that my generation (I'm 28) is responsible for all the evil in this world. They completely ignore their confirmation bias and the fact that their church is a constant echo-chamber where they get to reaffirm their comfortable beliefs. They're so deep into it they don't even question why they believe something, and would rather respond to reasoning with shouting and plugging their ears.

I honestly think this kind of insanity is fueled by 24 hr news and clickbait facebook articles, and would not nearly be as widespread otherwise. If you say nonstop that we're all fucked, people will start to believe it if they hear it enough. Fox News is laughing all the way to the bank, but it makes me worried for what the truly riled up people will do in the name of "taking America back!!"

This is another relative of mine...

ok. So now I will explain what SCOTUS has done this week.
In two bad decisions this week, now all of your rights are determined by men and women in black robes. Our Constitution, the United States Congress, and State Congresses across the country has been rendered useless .Your Constitutional Rights have just been wiped away by five members of the Supreme Court. If they can interject something into the Constitution what is not there then they can take away what is there. They have already done this by upholding illegal search and seizures that violates your 4th amendment right in the Patriot Act signed in by George Bush. Thankfully Rand Paul had the guts to go against party lines.
I oppose these decisions for this reason and this reason only. I believe that our Founding Fathers set a system of checks and balances to keep any one person or group to gaining too much power. I feel it is time for a constitutional amendment limiting the terms for the Judicial Branch of our government. Without the ability to vote out a Justice they will continue to decide based on feelings rather than the rule of law.

Doesn't it get tiring constantly finding yourself on the wrong side of history?

I genuinely want to pick conservative people's minds about this.

The hell he say about Freddy Mercury

Didn't Freddie hide his HIV and gay status until death? Hardly an activist.

Also, I love how conservatives are NOT racist, but when gays get something, they get upset about gays AND blacks.

I'd love to talk to people about that. Even Sorkin for his "liberals never win" diatribe from Newsroom.

Liberals win...always. Progression happens whether people want it or not.
