More purple Game Boy goodness. I got a decent-ish deal on a complete purple Micro.

AuTwoHYl.jpg

It looks more pink than purple. Still love this thing to death, though.

Ahh, looks so good. Been thinking of getting more micros, but they're kinda pricey and it can be hard to tell from ebay pics how much paint damage they have.

so after a couple weeks of playing with my RCG GBA, i'm going to try to send it back for repairs.

there's a bunch of small stupid shit with the build that shouldn't annoy me, but it does.

the main reason i'm sending it back is because of how bad the buttons stick. it's not as annoying when i'm playing something like pokemon. but when it's game like mario or mm zero, it gets really annoying, really fast.

i've seen and read stories where wiggy is kind of a douche about it, but i want to see if he'll be willing to help me out (i do have a 45 day warranty).

sucks because the screen is damn beautiful. but what good is a game if i can't play properly.

the micro screen is the best screen nintendo has ever made by far. i can tolerate the micro's small size just because the screen is so compact and bright. the image quality is so crisp i can't play gameboy advance games any other way.

that purple one is quite sick by the way. kinda mauve. man these micros bring out the collector in me. got a black jpn one and that's all i need so i try to suppress the urge to buy other colours... it's probably their size and build quality that makes them so cool.

I agree but playing with it more than 30 minutes hurts my hands so bad. I'd really love to be able to get comfortable with it :(

I managed to find Onimusha Tactics factory sealed. Is it worth it me opening it and gaming it or letting it appreciate? Lol

Do you mean is it a good game? Yeah its alright, no FFTA nor Fire Emblem that's for sure, but a competent strategy game set in Onimusha nonetheless (a world I'm really getting more and more engaed with on ps2 I played this one ironically without ever playing the other Onimushas back in the GBA heyday). Plus its averaging $20 sealed online so you could easily pickup another sealed copy at any time really. Choice is yours.

Ugh I wish I had the funds to get GBA collecting. The GameBoy Advance hardware family is sexy as hell, I only have my childhood GBA SP, silver.

New as in new sealed? Because Summon Night goes for around $60 sealed.
It's Summon Night 2 actually sealed, just double checked.

I'll take a photo of my complete/sealed collection. I picked up Megaman & Bass a few weeks ago and the collection is starting to flesh out nicely.

Irish, I know it's more expensive but you really gotta go with an EZ Flash IV IMO. A lot of those GBA flashcarts out there are crap really, but that one works like a charm.

Built quality nowadays does tend to be shoddy however so you might have to fix it up a bit if that's a problem. Personally I had to use some glue to keep the thing together but other than that it was fine.

hmm...fair enough man, what's the best deal to be found on an EZ IV then?

QUESTION TIME! Are all US GBA SPs which are pearl (blue or pink) AGS-101s? Am I safe buying one of those blind? I'm desperate for one!

Does anyone here collect flash carts? I've been looking around for some, but I can't seem to find anything online that doesn't look shady.

My advice? Wait for the GBA Everdrive. It'll turn up eventually. Krikzz is working on the GB/GBC one right now, so a GBA one afterwards makes sense.

If you don't want to wait, the EZ Flash IV is great....providing you can find a Mini SD card, and that you can put up with the silly software.

The ever drive seems like its going to be awesome if you're mostly into collecting the consoles themselves, everdrive guarantees you can play games on them lol

I have a couple of EZ Flash IVs, and a Supercard SD. I have a couple for my DS, also. I was just going to try to nab a few more. They're interesting to me because of their rarity. The GBA cards are seemingly getting harder to find.

If you want the original boxes, with manuals, and not the great ones that Grief has done up:

Gunstar Super Heroes: $20-30ish
Aria of Sorrow: Yeah... probably not worth buying CIB unless you have a hundred dollars or so to throw at it, or if you get incredibly lucky
Metroid Fusion: $35+
Minish Cap: $40+
WarioWare: $30 is the cheapest I've seen it recently, usually $40+
FFV: I picked up a CIB copy for $23.00 not including shipping, usually sells for around $20 if dented, if the condition is better it goes for about $30-$40
FFVI: I picked up a legit CIB copy for $26.13 with shipping, I've noticed recently that the prices have increased to around $70 for a CIB edition.
Boktai: $30+
Zero Mission: $55 was the cheapest I've seen in the last few days, generally been about $70+
Drill Dozer: Relatively cheap at $15-$30.
Astro Boy: $40+
Ninja Five-O: Yeah, good call.
River City Ransom EX: $60+
Advance Guardian Heroes: $15-$25, probably the cheapest on your list.
Pinball of the Dead: Usually $25+

Is a sealed copy of Boktai worth anything??

A sealed and unopened edition would get you around $70-$100.

Neat collection! How is Yoshi: Topsy Turvy? I feel like I've heard mixed things.
I had fun with it. But due to the nature of the controls (tilt) it can't be played with the gba player naturally. I may be a bit biased as I love all the yoshi games my favorite being yoshis story for n64 :)

So I got an OG GBA with backlight screen off eBay and...

The screen itself is nice. But whoever installed it did a horrible job. There's tons of dust between the LCD and the plastic, and the screen itself is slightly crooked.

How is Rose Colored Gaming? Are their GBAs worth the price?

How do I make these boxes real? What "paper" do I need, etc. They are fucking beautiful.

Type of paper you need to print out on is called cardstock.

I just uploaded an image to the album, combine that image with whatever cover you need to print. Align the right side of the image with the right side of the cover.
Gives you tabs to fold down for bottom and top of the box.

I'm in the process of making more.

Kirby's Dreamland 2, Wario Land 1, Fire Emblem, Mega Man Battle Network 3, etc. I kind of have a lot going on right now with school work for the next couple of weeks though.

Are you using letter size cardstock? Just tried and mine wouldn't fit on one piece:

Is there a setting I should try changing? I just used Paint, told it to scale to 100% normal size (so no resizing). Tried adjusting the margins as low as they'd go (not for the one pictured, but after) and there was still a tiny amount that wouldn't fit.

I really need to buy Yggdra Union. What's the game under FireRed?

Yggdra Union is also on PSP where it has much nicer graphics. The game under Pokemon is Kuru Kuru Kururin, which was released in English in PAL Land (so obviously you'd probably want to get that version instead). It has two Japanese-only sequels, Kururin Paradise (also on GBA) and Kururin Squash (Gamecube).

The total size should be

10.67 inches x 4.663 inches

Tabs add a little extra, but shouldn't stretch over the edge to the height, but that is not a problem.

Also you should match the color of the tabs to that of the back/spine of the cover. I realize you are probably just testing, but for posterity.

If you want to pay double the price sure lol. The amount of text in the game is barely any you certainly don't need reading comprehension to enjoy the game.

I bought it used so I'm going through and beating the Japanese previous owners high scores lol (which is quite the challenge)

Gimp made it happen. Fuck paint. Didn't even think about the tabs. Now the cutting and the folding. This will take some practice. Thanks for your work on these. Very awesome looking.
