I kinda dissapointed waiting for the singleplayer gameplay.
Normally singleplayer gameplay are more showcase. Multiplayer had a frame rate focus rather than graphics. Happens with Uncharted 4 and I believe will happen here too.

Nah, you can show a bit of gameplay without spoiling a thing. The part in the trailer last year where the crew is on that vehicle, it was on water I believe? Show a little of that, it was in a big open area, so gives us a glimpse of that. Spoilers are absolutely not necessary.
Furthermore I'm not shitting on anything, Gears for me has always been about the SP and hell the franchise started with SP. Yep it had MP but the big focus during shows was the SP. It's very understandable that people thought it was a given they'd do a deep dive of SP. At the end of the day I just want a game that blows me away man. That trailer last year took me by surprise and me and my brother all went "oh shiiiiiit, TC is doing it".
Right now I'm a little worried something wenr wrong. Too ambitious? 4K/60fps has to come with sacrifices to the visuals, much larger worlds than before in 4K/60fps when Gears 4 on X was 4K/30fps? Sounded a bit too good to be true if I'm honest. Personally I really don't want them to sacrifice the visuals for 60fps. Last year looked/looks soooooo good.
Let's wait and see and if my worries turn out to be false alarm I'm gonna be one fucking happy dude.

They should just let BluePoint remaster GoW1-3/J for the PS/Switch/PC and call it a day. (I'll gladly double dip)

He knows what works as far as game mechanics for sure.
Not sure there is honesty going on over there in that studio, sometimes you have to be honest to colleagues and let them know what isn't working.

I have no idea how much percent the campaign of 4 was but I was fine with the length. Apparently this is longer, which is fine too. I just want to see it now, how it stacks up to last year's trailer.

That escape mode gameplay looks good, the graphics seem improved. I'll be there day one but man it seems so whack to show only a video so close to release but so little gameplay.
For titles releasing in 2020 I can understand no gameplay video but this game is out in Sept, they should be showing it being played. I'm confident it will still be good but if Microsoft gets flack for so few games showing gameplay the first example should have been Gears 5.

Answering a tweet from someone Rod said they showed campaign last year and this year they had the other stuff to show.
By other stuff he means showing a damn CG trailer of a new MP mode. I'm sorry but you barely showed campaign last year, I think that's what we call a glimpse.
That being said, the cinematic looks great. Facial expressions improved a lot and at the end it transitions into gameplay. I'm still baffled by that decision though.

I remember being so hyped for gears 3 that I jumped through some serious hoops, drove hundreds of miles to pick it up and just managed to log in as all my friends were starting a campaign.
Man, I was burned hard on Gears 2 MP but gears 3, at launch, was fucking terrible. About a year later it was pretty much perfect.
No way made will I buy this game day one.
