Very true, 50 bucks for the out of print set is very good.

I just know that, at least personally, being without the full set of something with regards to trading arts bugs the SHIT out of me.

I'm missing one Valkyrie Profile one and it's annoying as fuck. Arngrim is the only single I can't seem to find. ;_;

The nendos are definitely bigger, but the size difference isn't that huge. Just ordered Yukiko and Teddie any way though. Might as well get the whole set.

By "entire set" I meant the entire box set, not some weird collection of open singles.

Yeah that's the main reason I haven't looked into the combiners that much yet. They're very expensive.

The one third party figure I'm closest to getting is Function X-1 (headmaster) Chromedome. At first you'd think that he doesn't even transform, because there's no kibble and few signs of his car mode. The transformation itself is really smart and so well done (vid review). It's a brilliant piece of engineering. He doesn't look that impressive at first glance, but he's grown on me. Definitely getting him at some point.

That's pretty impressive, maybe even too impressive. I always found that kibble adds character to a transformer, and without it they look kinda plain.

I've just never been a huge fan of G1 TF designs post-movie so unfortunately the Function X figures do nothing for me. The Stunticons looks awesome though. I got my MP Soundwave last night, but haven't had a chance to really dig in yet.

I've been eying it up for a few weeks now and I finally broke and ordered the Enterbay 1/4th scale Joker. It arrived today and boy it's gorgeous. The hands were a bitch to swap out (had to heat them with a blow dryer) but I see none of the production issues I've read about on my figure. No sticky paint on the face and the legs are both the same length, etc. Pics!

Next on my list. There's a local comic shop that has him (and the Joker) for $360. I usually go with the IKEA Detolf. Nice glass shelving that's encased and can also be modded with fancy lights.

yup, Ikea Detolf is the best and relatively inexpensive. i just wish Ikea would somehow create one with shelves that can have their heights adjusted.

We've built three Ikea Detolfs, and they're really easy to put together with two people. The worst part is that they only have three shelves, so if you're displaying normal-sized 1/8s or whatever, it's easy to run out of space and have a lot of top room left over. Risers are pretty good for making use of the height, but if you want more shelves, the Klingsbo cabinets are pretty good too. They're just more of a pain to put together.

You have to either be present at the festival where they're being sold, or get extremely lucky finding them on sites like Yahoo Japan Auctions or Mandarake.
