I've never purchased from anywhere except Amazon domesitcally and AmiAmi via import. How is Nippon-Yasan with shipping and shipping speed?

As somebody who lives in the UK, I actually prefer Nippon-Yassan to the more popular stores

She's the Megahouse Clare from Claymore. I have her as well, still sealed in the box. I think Nippon-Yasan still has her in stock. She runs about $150 these days.

So I went and ordered one of the Ultimate Madoka figures.

Did they make way too many of these or something? Because the price was pretty reasonable ($60). Shipping was a pain since it's from Japan, but the price itself surprised me.

I actually heard they did end up making a bunch of them and they ended up on heavy discount (especially on Japanese Amazon) but I don't really know. :S

Yeah, her price shot up. Even on Mandarake she's about 16K. Mine is actually still sealed from new not 5 feet to my right. Can't wait to display!

Just picked up the Huntress bishoujo at Anime North for $60. I was pretty thrilled as I saw a booth have her for $65, I went to the ATM, came back and she was gone. At that point I only saw tables with her for $75-80... Then saw one table, asked, guy said $60, I asked to see it: Sold!

$60 is about an average price for her. That's what I paid. She's a very nice figure.

I have all three. Hard to choose between them. Poison Ivy tends to go for around $100, though. So if you can grab her for a reasonable price, do it.

But lots don't. I wouldn't say it's a "big deal", but it's one of those features that most people think tends to make figures look better when they do have it. It helps communicate the wispy-ness at the end of long hair.

The only figures I buy from amazon 3rd party are bishoujos, since they're pretty cheap from US sellers, and none have been bootlegged. There's no way to know you're getting anything legit from amazon, as there's no pictures, and seller ratings aren't that helpful. Prices are rarely as good as buying from Japanese sites too. You can probably dispute if you get a bootleg, and get your money back, but who wants to have to deal with that hassle?

Drossel has been bootlegged, so avoid. Just get her from mandarake instead, cheaper anyway.

So I pre-ordered the Dead Space 3 Isaac Clarke ARTFX Statue from Ami-Ami when it was announced, before playing the game ( Hey, I did the same thing with the megahouse Catherine, and that figure is better then the game).

Of course after playing Dead Space 3 I'm a little more then disinterested in this figure, but as it's Ami-Ami, I can't cancel, I'm sticking to my promise to purchase it although I'm a bit disgruntled with it.

Anyway the shipping was like 7,300 JPY for EMS, so I opted for SAL at 5,690 JPY as it was the cheapest I could get it at. Now I've never had to pay more then 4,000 JPY for any of my figures in the past all via EMS, and this is the first time I feel the lack of a shipping estimate from Ami-Ami has burned me.

Has Ami-Ami's shipping prices gone up, or is it just this figure? It's got to be some insanely huge heavy beast to cost this much just for shipping...

Shipping options really come down to patience. I usually go SAL registered because I don't mind waiting the 1-2 weeks it takes to reach the UK. EMS will get there in a few days though.

Edit: Looking at the close-ups from Megahobby Expo, Labrys still looks nice but Raidou steals the show for me. Can't wait to see that painted.

I've already paid for it, but that's nice to know it can be done. I don't hate the statue, it's just the second half of the game left a bad taste in my mouth, enough to taint it, if that makes sense.

Thanks for that, from what I've seen it might be 5.8 pounds, which is around 2.6 kg, which means the shipping charge adds up.

If I'm going to buy from an Amazon seller, I always look for a seller that has the item with "Fulfillment by Amazon". If that's not possible, then I stick with companies I've done business with before. Like Anime Wild.

What's the tweezer technique? Is it to use tweezers to remove the peg? Been trying to use tweezers to take it out, but there's very little leeway, this is going to be a difficult one.
