Not unless you want to pay $500+ for the first version of the Ledger Joker which is essentially being retuned for this upcoming Q4 release. If your pops is a fan of the Nicholson Joker, it's a really high quality sculpt and package.

Hmmmm, he does like the Nicholson Joker. Got any links?

Those are just adorable. Thought about getting them, but I don't really collect the cutesy stuff.

Me too, but I usually don't get a lot of blind boxed stuff either. Being able to get the full set just made it a little easier to pick up cuz it's Personaaaaaaaaaaa 4!!

Painting eyes is really hard. It feels like it would be easier to use some kind of pen than it would be to use paint for eyes in models. Not sure how anyone does it :-/

What scale are you operating at? Painting eyes requires several layers to get a good likeness out of them.

I'm having more trouble with just the fine-ness than anything else.

I think the brush I'm using is just too big (maybe?) It's a size 1.

I'm going to buy a 5/0 and a 3/0 brush to see if those help.

I have no idea what the scale of the figure is. Nothing really said. Judging by the size, it looks like 1/6 or 1/7.

This is a model I painted about a year ago or so? Eyes are tough depending on what kind of model you're doing them on. Small brushes + lots of patience + SUPER thin paint (and as a result, multiple layers...). Oh, and shit tons of practice.

Are you working on a resin model?
get a 20/0 brush, and practice using it on scrap paper or cardboard before proceeding.
the 20/0 brush may be hard to find but it's worth it!
Watch how the pros do it =D

Hi guys I am really thinking about buying the upcoming Samus Aran Figma model as my first model so I wanted to ask you about which store should I use to buy from, I really don't know a thing about buying this kind of stuff so I'd like to hear some recommendations of good stores that might offer the best price for the goods

I'll leave a pic here to refresh your memory

I think AmiAmi has the cheapest preorder pricing if it's still there.

Lol, i actually saw that video before. That's pretty much when I realized "hey, that brush looks a lot smaller."

So, I should buy 20/0 too? Ok, Ill try finding one.

Any recommendations on where to get one?

And for brushes of this size, should I get a sable hair one? I hear that certains hairs are better with certain paints? I'm using acrylic.

Buy it wherever you can find it. It's sold out at all the Japanese shops. You'll probably have to grab it from a US store.

I use Winsor Newton Kolinsky Sable:

Or Raphael brushes:

I ordered mine from Dick Blick:

http://www.dickblick.com/

They may not be the cheapest brushes, but of you're somewhat serious about miniature painting, go big now and thank me later haha. Also, get some brush soap and some brush cleaner. You probably know most of this already, but when you buy brushes that expensive, it's important to take very good care of them!

Cool, thanks for the info, man.

probably not the best place to ask but does anyone know if they made any Evangelion model kits like the old Gundam Wing sets that included figures of the pilots?

Damn that Rambo would be so instant buy if it wasn't for those ugly joints

Yep. I wished they went full muscle. I think the scale is big enough for them to make stuff that won't deteriorate quick.

Oh, they have 1/4 Batman and Joker in the works. I am 90% going to get it.

Blurry teasers. According to the boss man, reveal is in about a month.

Ooh, a figure thread.

I collected McFarlane toys from 2004-2009, which is when Todd basically stopped making all in-house lines (Spawn, Dragons, Fantasy, Zodiac, etc) and focused almost exclusively on Halo and sports figures.

That Enterbay sculpt looks fantastic, absolutely on par with Hot Toys' work.

Thanks, was just mainly seeing if they even had similar kits.
I still actually have all my Gundam sets stored at my moms house and after watching Evangelion for the first time I wanted something that might fit in.

edit:found exactly what I was looking for

thanks.

Glad you found it!

I completed my first gundam figure!

I fucked up soooo many decals >_<
Those dry rubs are a bitch!

Ball Gundam's are fricken sweet. There have been some hilariously awesome Ball Gundam customs. Great job!

Hi En Ex. Didn't expect to see another 2f2fer on GAF :)

And yeah, should be interesting to see how the Enterbay Batman/Joker duo works. Hopefully it'll be good enough to give Hot Toys a legit run for their money.

Finally after months of waiting, I got these two lovely K-ON!! figures. I'm pretty surprised at how well made they are. Definitely makes me want to buy more...
