something about that SC2 team... i dunno. I know all the blizz dev teams care about their games but the SC2 team seems so passionate about that game. It's a bit infectious.

That's the thing, it doesn't seem like you're getting enough content per buck when compared to the two other expansions which gave you as a buyer entire zones.
Maybe the amount that you do get look smaller when you look at what non-buyers get for free - an entirely revamped world!

Still getting more content than BC or LK, not sure how them layering an entire new world or brand new framework in for free on top of that somehow deducts from that. Sounds like some really awkward logic.

And the dungeon changes sound excellent. Again, I'm really happy to see WoW doing everything it can to kill awkward design and timesinks. We're finally getting as many traces of Everquest poison out of the genre as possible. Will make leveling very kinetic feeling and great.

Though I am sure there's plenty of folk, smelling of moldy pizza, complaining about these things. Real difficulty comes from gathering random shit in Felwood for hours then wiping non-stop on a bugged out tank and spank boss than this modern bullshit with it's mechanics and game design, flexible locks, difficulty modes and removed timesinks for those losers who don't sleep in a pile of their own filth.

Hope my ustream feed stays on development stream

/crosses fingers
I'm gonna have to start snooping around for a development panel if this stream sticks to the main stage. Nothing against SC2 talk, but I want to see Metzen stroke his ego.

This expansion doesn't really seem that packed with content as you will have access to the cataclysmed landscapes without it.

I mean, what do you really get?
You get 4 raids, a dungeon and two new races - and that's it?
Oh, and archeology.

Didn't the lich king expansion give you a whole other zone, and a hero class while the alien one gave you yet another entire zone, flying mounts and two new classes.

The only correct way to look at this is that the revamped world is part of cataclysm. It's just that they are allowing people who have not bought it yet, to level.. it would add so many layers of problems and systems if they had to exclude players. what your really buying is the next chapter of the game. while the revamped zones can be played without the expansion, nobody is getting anywhere without it, but I see your point. its just the wrong way to think about it.

In fact Blizzard have been kind and generous in "giving" all this revamped stuff for free to reduce headaches for consumers.

Most streams are coming from DirectTV. They are only showing the main stage.

Sad, Pardo just was talking about the new MMO with Geoff. Said we probably wouldn't see it next year either. 2016 confirmed or some crazy date. I was hoping Cataclysm would be last of the WoW Expansions but I doubt that will be the case now since they obviously arn't close to showing it.

They have different dev teams and/so they'll continue to pump out WoW expansions as long as they can.

Which is why I was hoping this wasn't the case. I love WoW, played it for years and still wish I had the capability but I guess I feel like the end of life of an MMO should be around 6-7 years. Past that point you've run the course I feel like a game like that should run, new graphics capabilities are out and it's old tech. Move on and tell another story, give everyone a brand new fresh experience. Also after so many expansions I feel like the quality starts to dissipate, they are just milking it for more and more money.

Not saying they should remove the servers or anything of that nature, I don't care if they still run for another 30 years. Just kind of bugs me to see them focusing on older things more so then newer things past a certain point.

Dude, Everquest 1 is still online and just got its 17th expansion according to wikipedia. They'll downsize the devteam but WoW will get content as long as there's enough people playing.

Wait, what?

Just pick that damn thing.

But Good point. Never did complete my ubrs key back in the day either. Man if you were one of the few with a key you were so set.

May of 2005. Cold called and summoned up for 10g, 20g, even 30g by people. That was big money then for someone who never raided.

Wrath's ending. You can drop the act now.

Wait, what?
He was asking a question on a quest for a Mage, and Metzen asked: What do you want? Hilarity ensued, and he said DONE its added into the game.

Well the players get content and the devs get money. Other players migrate to the next game. It's a win-win imo.

What the hell is happening here? Moonkin plots?
He's just asking where the hell the Moonkin stuff comes in for Troll Druids, since they support the Loa and not the moon.

All he has to do is go through Zul'Drak and all of his questions are kinda answered. In a way it's the same reason why Tauren are getting Paladins, the explanation behind getting those powers are answered, but due to the way the game operates they can't just simply create a new class with basically the same powers.

I mean, I enjoy the lore and all because it is relatively simple yet filled, but some of these lore nerds are off their rockers.

Pardon? Not sure what act you're speaking of, since I barely participated in Wrath past Ulduar.

Do you mean my assertion that Vanilla was completely overrated fare? Not exactly going for an act there. While it was polished up and fully functional and had enough content in all the right ways, it was full of Everquest-isms, with time sinks and really bad, insular design logic (oh god the awful class design), that still fuck over the growth of MMOs now and then.

WoW really started with TBC, for me. I'd really like to see Cataclysm wind up as the content spread of BC with the general framework of an evolved Wrath. That'd be please me and probably keep me subbed even with dabbling in newer fare like GW2.
