Thick Thighs Save Lives
NeoGAF's Physical Games Advocate Extraordinaire
This is based on the massive leak (among other things) of an internal Sony PlayStation presentation back in December 2023.
The slides in question are available for reading in the OP I've posted here:

The presentation cites that the time-frame used was the game's launch (which was on September 28, 2020) up to October 2022.

Maybe just note the calculation. Based on page 6 note and page 7.
MLB The show 2021 revenue: 181.6M
MLB The show 2022 revenue: 143.3.6M
MLB The show 2021 Normalised LTD revenue: 26%
MLB The show 2022 Normalised LTD revenue: 20%
Genshin Normalised LTD revenue: 143%
Genshin revenue: = (181.6M+143.3.6M) * 143% / (26%+20%) = 1.01B
Shame can't really infer anything for the first year.

Some other interesting observations:
- 48% of those who spent money on Genshin made over 16 transactions.
- Averaging 22 days between transactions
- 100% are other purchases (meaning not Battle passes)
