I am laughing my ass off that somebody died over 600 fucking times in the combat portion of the event. Like HOW? even if you suck at the game, 600 times would take like hours and hours.
Gotta admire their determination though.

Also wtf someone smacked those coins 1000 times?? Do you not have anything better to do? Wait why is Hoyo even tracking that...

So I've just finished all the side activities from the Lantern Rite event. I still have to complete the 3rd and 4th parts of the storyline for this event, but so far I've enjoyed the first two acts. I thought the Tetris minigame was quite a nice change of pace, and I had fun clearing it. Since I don't have many characters yet, and very few hydro ones (I only have Barbara, lol), I went with Xingqiu because I heard he's pretty good at applying hydro. That's about it I guess. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

The lantern right domain was frustrating.

Sure. Use specific ability. Ok. Oh, it only shows things in a small part of this large area you're supposed to search for things that can only be seen with that ability? Thanks!

There's a free yao yao in there? Is her c1 worth it or should I get someone else?
If you're using her with other Dendro or as the Dendro driver (particularly with her Ult) in a bloom team, it's nice. Otherwise if you're missing any of the characters and you like them, pick someone else.

In other news, last minute reminder - Imaginarium resets tonight at reset, so don't forget to do your runs.

I started using yao yao during my return stint and I felt like noelle wasn't really cutting it anymore, I mean she still does but it takes more work; yao yao on the other hand is supremely awesome and took me by surprise. I don't use her with any other dendro, but she is def my dendro driver and when her ult start everything just dies while she just ignores all damage.

I have everyone else aside from that newest character, so I should pick her instead?

New character has a new gimmick as Swirl shielder. People aren't too excited about it right now, but it is something no other character can do. That said, if you're actively using YY and her Ult, go for it. She gets pretty crazy at deeper constellations, I use her in my Nilou bountiful core team and she does destroy enemies, as you said.

Have you guys been doing the web event? Some of these are actually pretty tough. I think you need to group up for extra currency or whatever, so anybody on Americas server, here's my link:

Also, man that Electro Regisvine was the trap this time on the January Imaginarium. Good fucking luck if you didn't have a heavy Cryo applicator and... basically Mavuika. I'm not sure how you'd do it otherwise considering the short time limit and massive HP that you can't even touch until you whittle away his corolla.

Why are stage 6 bosses always the hard ones?

*edit*

For any newish players or vets that didn't mass produce them, that little granny in Liyue that runs the toy store is selling 1000 Xiao lanterns for a limited time. Not really a use for them other than watching them float up in the sky, but worth noting considering this is the first time you've been able to get more since that lantern rite 2 or 3 years ago.

Man, Mavuika is going to dominate these challenge events for the foreseeable future I feel like.

This wasn't even anything special as far as timing/rotations/cooldowns, just me mashing buttons and whatnot.

*edit*

Man just finished the lantern rite main story quest... I always feel bad for doing it, but I can't help laughing when Yun Jin starts singing. They even gave her two entire full-length songs this time. I just can't understand how people take that type of opera seriously. Not that I like European based opera any better, but damn....

A bit random, but does anyone know a dope dark lumine mod (maybe something like in this cool video edit)? I'm super bored of Lumine's default and bland outfit (she's one of my highest lvl characters so I kinda still have to use her in various activities). 😩

Sign up for a gamebanana account and just browse her section. There's like 200+ mods for her.

DM me if you need help setting stuff up, it's pretty easy. I recommend using XXMI instead of GIMI at this point though, it's just a straight up better platform and it's compatible with WuWa/HSR/Genshin/ZZZ in a single interface.

Just make sure you guys don't get your accounts locked by violating ToS by modifying the game.

Of course > I < never would modify my game. But my friend has been doing it for like 3 years now with no issues (character mods only).
It all comes down to the game/company. Some are pickier than others and is subject to change any time they want. Each one has their own tolerance on mods.

I don't get why you're bringing this up. Sure, anytime you mod a live service game, you're rolling the dice, but it's a pretty widely understood process at this point. The mod program goes out of its way to not modify any files in the game directories which is what's labeled as a breach of ToS. Everything is done when the game makes a call for a character model/effect/etc and the program just redirects it without changing a thing. It's kinda like buying a professional photograph and putting it in whatever frame you like instead of the one they give you with a photo. That's the way I interpret the process at any rate.

Some companies went to war with moders, trying to get their websites shutdown. I don't know the nature of the mods though.

I never said game companies were smart but they do have the keys to lock whoever they wish, which is why I said proceed with caution.

I never said do or don't mod. I said proceed with caution just in case.

I'd totally use a cosmetic mod if it was possible on Playstation.

Weirdest desicion of them to only combine new outfits to 'big' ingame events. So many characters will never receive a single new outfit. A lot of the alternate outfits also look way too similar to the default ones.

Some mods are ultra high quality too, better than the stuff that even HoYo puts out. Like the signature gliders mod that has a glider skin for almost every character:

The algorithm provides I guess.

This was some literal who developer trying to generate drama for their low quality game, nothing else. Their previous games maxed out at like 20 CCU on Steam or something.

In my opinion, PC versions and mods are some of the only things keeping mainstream gaming bearable these days. That way when a dev makes a stupid fucking decision, you still have options to fix it to your liking. And I'm not even just talking about visual mods/skins.

Making it impossible for playable characters to die takes out some of the suspense in the story. Kind of a bummer. I thought traveler wasn't supposed to be affected by the gunk but it knocked us out for 2 days?

HoYo killed off playable characters before in HI3, but I doubt they'd have the balls to do it in Genshin. I agree though, it'd be much better that way.

Mizuki teaser. I really like this new hand-drawn teaser style they've been doing for a few of these now. Gives it a little character, and it's something different. Shame her kit is so boring, I like pretty much everything else about her.

I can’t log into any of my gachas due to the PSN outage. This sucks.
It could be worse my man. Just look at this post from the purple forum. I mean I play 3 gachas myself on a daily basis and I have monthly subscription + BP on all 3, but this reaction is a bit over the top (dude apparently has almost 200 posts in their respective PSN is down thread)

That said, I do think that MiHoYo and Kuro should compensate those who were impacted by this PSN outage and couldn't claim their rewards from their monthly subscription and BP.

I don't see why it would be the devs' responsibility. Sony screwed up, not them. I'm not sure what the account situation is like, but I assume people can just log in on the phone app and claim their daily rewards that way. Doesn't even matter if the game hardly runs.

Normally I wouldn't say the devs have to do anything, but this brainrot is exactly the type of hardcore FOMO grind mindset that HoYo and other similar companies have fostered and fed into through the years.

So yea, while they don't owe anything, I think it's a sign of good faith to compensate.

Yeah, they don't have to do what I've suggested, but usually these live service games want to keep their players happy (especially the recurring spenders) when downtime like this occurs, even if they're not at fault.

I remember playing a mobile game some years back, and there was an issue where a lot of people from the US didn't have mobile internet access due to a hurricane and couldn't log into the game for several days. The devs went out of their way to compensate everyone who was impacted by it, which was a super cool move on their part.

Alternatively they could adopt better practices like allowing for 1 makeup day per week on dailies and monthly subscriptions automatically extend a day when you don't log in. But yea, it'd be nice to see them do something.
