Are you referring to the part where Johns said they adjusted the Justice League script so it gets to a point of hope and optimism more quickly? Because that sounds like Snyder came up with another dark, broodfest, and that Johns pulled things back in-line, which is exactly the type of thing Feige does at Marvel.
I don't think them saying that they're going to address Batman's violence is a retcon by any means at all, I think they're saying the opposite. Likely further exploring the character development Bruce experiences at the end of BvS where he moves on from his overly-brutal methods. BvS implies that this level of brutality was a new development for this Batman, due to becoming increasingly similar overtime, so it absolutely makes sense for them to explore this and walk him back a bit in this film.
