Man, any footage of the PS level? I want to see what I missed. It's just a level? I thought it was new enemy types in the shape of the PS Symbols

I doubt there will be a digital foundry article for the game. Doubt there will be any technical articles for the game. It's just not demanding by any means.
 
I have been waiting years for a new Geometry Wars! Eventually cracked the top 100 worldwide in a couple of modes with 2 during my addiction a few years back.

Can anybody make recommendations on how to get this running on a Mac? I don't have access to either my PS3 or 360 and don't have a copy of Windows.

I'm using a mid-2012 MacBook Pro with retina display (15").

Edit: Steam is listing a Mac version! Woohoo!
 
Damn, woke up today thinking I was gonna be able to play it before heading off to work, not even realising that the game was not yet unlocked in Europe. :(

Pacifism is definitely a lot harder than Geom Wars 2, and I'm still getting used to the quirks but it's pretty decent. Looking forward to digging into other modes.
 
So, is this coming out tomorrow in EU? It better. I haven't really been following this game since they first showed it off, so I didn't know it was releasing now, but I definitely want it!

No PS+ discount or anything?

Tonight at midnight if you preordered. Tomorrow afternoon else. No discount but a DLC (1 level) is offered if you preorder.
 
Xbox One version preloaded & ready to rock.
Good to read all the positive impressions so far.
I know this game will extend my backlog even further ...
 
It's sooooo good.

Feels great to be playing this again - I would have payed $15 for just the Classic and evolved modes - the new levels are icing on the cake.

I will relish this morning - I won't be in the top 100 leaderboard ever again :(

This happened to me last night playing ahaha. I said to myself "well, looks like I'm doing what I use to do before. This is totally Geometry Wars then."
 
only got 1 game in on the first stage before work, had to make sure it felt right...

..it felt right enough. the ship swerved as it shouldve.

the enemy ships don't have distinct enough sounds between them, but i will learn the new quirks. welcome back old friend.
 
game just crashed on me. unexpected error something or other. that's terrifying, i never even thought of that. luckily i had just started.

this feels right. if you're a former fan who's on the fence, you should probably get this. if you've never played a geometry wars before you should definitely get this.
 
The addiction has come back! Every game I have will now take a backseat to this.

Played a few games last night and this morning. I need more!
 
So this is actually good? After the lukewarm PAX impressions I was kinda worried.

GW2 was my jam so I'll probably get this on Steam after work.

Right off the bat, I agree with Black Holes. I hate he drop shadow though, often times I wind up flying past it only to get hit by whats dropping down, like in geowars 2 you could still fly through it until the enemy is there, seems drop/hit box is slightly off

Maybe the people at PAX only got to play a few of the Adventure mode levels, I'm not sure really as this game is great. What I think is awesome about this new game is they have those new levels, but they also made sure to include all the old game types in Classic mode. I couldn't stop playing Pacifism last night and I'm paying for it this morning.

I was actually curious to see the complaints that people had from PAX. I don't see any. I was guessing many from PAX that didn't like it probably weren't good in the others in the past or were people who seem to either never played the series/never got into it.

It literally plays the exact same as past Geo Wars games and it looks better. Adventure mode is a blast as well. Those that were whining about Adventure mode seriously need to shut it because it's optional since classic mode has every mode but sequence (which played like a single level anyway). This isn't the first time the series has had an adventure mode (Galaxies) and it's just what 3 needed. People were complaining just to hear themselves because let's be honest, if Geo Wars 3 was basically Geo Wars 2.5, they would whine about no new content.
 
Hoping for arbitrary resolution/framerate support in the PC version. I will absolutely be double-dipping if so (already bought on ps4 for RLF leaderboards).

I broke down and went to pre-purchase it 6 minutes of 1 and it seemed to change to buy while it was in my cart. I'm going to be irritated if I don't get the pre-purchase bonuses.
 
Love the game so far. Only thing I'd comment on is that planetoid shapes are curved a bit too tightly sometimes, so you can't see what's "behind". That can be a drawback compared to SSD:HD which had perfect use of its spherical world to help you play in circles, without obstructing the view.

GeoWars is best on the 2D surfaces (classic modes)
 
Ok, played the PC version on Linux and holy shit this game is so addictive. This is the first Geo Wars I play and I can see myself playing this for a long time. Love it.
 
Does anyone here have the Xbox One version and possibly use Full/Full RGB settings? I want to get this for the Xbox One im just hoping it wont be too dark.
 
Just playing classic and pacifism so far. The game is amazing and I can finally stop being sad that Geometry Wars 2 never made it to pc. Glad I didn't listen to the gaf haters on this one.
