Even though it's extremely fun when it's working at it's best, and everyone's using their abilities, I can't get over how technically poor it is. The resolution is so clearly sub-hd (and I'm not usually somebody who notices these things) that I'm surprised the game's not running at 60fps, and yet it's dropping below 30 at times. I'd almost like them to delay until August to optimise the shit out of it.

I fucking love using the detection grenades as an engineer. My favourite class at the moment. Although lying prone and going invisible is pretty fucking cool.

I managed to get in once and got a hard lock up.

Not impressed so far obviously.

I'm eagerly awaiting to play later tonight with my 3-4 buddies I had get codes as well. Hopefully the hard freeze and lag issues(frame drops?) can be resolved by then.
 
Haha. Fuck yeah, online gaming. It's funny how things can turn out when certain factors are unknown;

Visuals = AWESOME
Premise = AWESOME
Gameplay = AWESOME
Features = AWESOME
Netcode + framerate = SHITBALLS.

EVERYTHING RUINED.

I hope they fix things up.

I've gone back on the Witcher for now. It's the framerate and a shit team that pushed me over the edge. I'll wait for people to grasp how taking objectives and using your items works.
 
Jesus Ubisoft, you've worked on this game for how fucking long and THIS is the state it's in? Jesus Holy shit. What the fuck goes on at game development these days?

yep first thing that jumped out at me was the res and the look.
 
People also need to realize that the beta just launched, it's early in the day in NA and a lot of people will be playing against others from across the world. Shit's gonna be laggy at times.

Are you playing it right now on 360? I'm curious if these issues people are having are PS3 specific or not.

Also, does the game in motion look on par with Socom 4 at least?

Never played Socom 4. I think the game looks fine. It's not "pretty" but it does the job. I played earlier. Got my ENG up to level 4.

Ugh. Just had a match where I was dominating. Doing better than I do in any online game really. And of course, lose connection to the server. Goddamnit.

Not having sound sucks too. I haven't had any sound for 5 different matches now. I wonder if dashboarding and booting it up again will fix it.

Few questions for you then.

Did you experience lock up issues? How fast was the matchmaking? Did you notice the frame drops people are mentioning to be below 30FPS?

Oh and how much character customization do we have to work with in terms of body equipment to wear?

characters look alot better than S4 for sure.


can't find a single game. spent like 40 minutes pimp'n my guns.
 
And now my 360 froze.
Damnit. I told myself I would stop playing when I hit lvl 4 on my weapon class but I can't finish a damn match now.

I will say that I really like the grenades in this game. Feels good.
 
Not impressed.

At all.

This is coming from someone who played a ton of the earlier Ghost Recons.

Controls are loose as hell, and it seems a little too much to ask for Ubi to put a simple screen showing the buttons aside from the loading screen.

Cover system has some nice things, but overall on a whole the game is just too damn clunky, but then again, after playing Gears, my standards stay extremely high for controls and movement.

And no, I've had matches where I've dominated, but the game is just too clunky and I'm just not feeling it in general. Visually I even like the tones of the earlier two Ghost Recons more even.
 
I really like this game. It really feels like it throws you out there without a clue in the world on what you're doing though.

I totally agree on the clunky controls though. It sometimes feels like its the map as well as the controls. I see someone and I have to think about how I'll get into a position to shoot them. In a way, I can see how that's the charm of the game. In others, what people will hate.

Man i laugh at ubisoft if they marketed this as a 60 fps game.
Or cry in the corner if they really had it running on 60 fps. It looks so sub par graphically and performance is so shitty for a console game. I can handle 30 fps if it bordering 29~30 fps but this is all over the place. Maybe 1 year of pc gaming has it side effect but this game is nauseating so bad is the framerate.

But the Gameplay is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't want to stop but yeah first time i have to recover from bad framerate.

So im really wondering is this a test build from 5~8 months ago or something.
Ubisoft should feel bad if this is a sample customers have to base their preorder on.
So my advice is ubi make a stable framerate demo like 3 weeks before release in this state im not buying or preordering.
 
A lot of issues I'm seeing is people don't know how to play.

The LMG suppresses people. It makes them very vulnerable and they really can't do shit.

ENGs feed intel and enemy locations to the rest of the team.

Also, if you're in cover, use the cover swap system. Look to the next piece of cover. If you see a circle with an arrow pointing to it and you want to go there hold down A. You move way faster than regular sprint and it's great for flanking.

Also, hold RB and you can select where you want to go (teammate or OBJ) it will give you a line showing the fastest route.

Problem is, you can't just fire it. Or you'll hit NOTHING. It's more for people that rush and you setting up before hand. Also you will lose at least 60% of head on firefights unless the guy is right in front of you.

Can't find any lobby to join. It's ridiculous. Tried first with default and then with any. Nothing, right now I am idling in my own lobby hoping for someone to join it...

I can't be the only one in freaking Sweden to try this beta!
