Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Beta Thread of key begging

Okay, mill map finally worked. I still haven't played Sabotage (the one reason I wanted to try this beta), but the objective hold/attack mode is kinda neat... but too chaotic. And the HVT one isn't really explained. You get "A" and "ATTACK" and think you have to "interact" with it but instead it's "get the HVT here."

Also there's a few areas in the Mill where the enemy (GIGN or something like that, non-Ghosts) have a significant map coverage for because there's three walls and they have some cover to protect the one area. Trying to arm the intel in the mill itself is suicide because they can slap four people around there and practically hold it even if you throw smoke and intels in to see them.
 
Wow, I just had the worst/best match just now. 4 v 4 on pipeline. It lags like crazy but suddenly fixes itself midway. I'm like, alright, I'll keep playing.

In the middle of the match, I use the squad spawn. Now this is on Pipeline at the metal bridge out of I'll say "orange spawn".
Since your person spawns right next to the guy, it spawned me OFF the bridge, under the map. Now I couldn't move and you can't really kill yourself. Yet you can shoot out of the ground.
So we're holding the bomb objective and one by one, my other teammates spawn on me and all four of us are stuck under the map.
Then they use smoke to plant it, we're screwed, right? Nope! Host quit and the game restarted and then we planted it under 30 seconds to win.

Also playing against a good team is really disheartening. I got completely owned by them. Next round most of them quit and I was able to sneak around and take objectives and get 10-0 KDR. But that's after having to have numerous "HOST CONNECTION LOST" errors and the Mill map never fucking working.

Pipeline is a piece of shit, as per people saying, yeah. I haven't been spawned trapped there but I've seen that teams spawn and while there's an "underground" way of going under the bridge, you still have to go up the stairs to the bridge to exit into the map so it's not a viable outway.

You haven't played sabo yet but losing to a good team in sabo is basically loading the map, moving towards the objective by yourself (where the fuck is your team?), enemy team grabs the bomb. You peak up and kill him but get killed. By the time you respawn your bomb is being planted. You get no visual cue other than the 3d hud afaik (straight from BF3's book!) and then the game is over LOL

Pipeline isn't fun even if you don't get spawn camped. It's just not a very fluid map. It's really sad to hear that mill is the biggest map because it feels like the right size with the right spacing between objectives for this type of game.

One of the bigger issues with the game right now is 1) artificial skill gap because of unlock system, 2) getting dominated is really, really not fun; it's basically spawn/die over and over again even if you don't get spawn camped. The combination of the two though.. you really only get spawn camped if you go up against a really good team and your team is bad and dat skill gap.. All the casual players are going to stop playing this game after a couple weeks imo


Wow second Bodark handgun is awesome. Ghost's second is meh.

The gun balance between the two factions is awful.
 
anyone elses ps3 version prone to freezing or locking up? I have to hard reset my ps3 everytime. Happened once every 3 times I played that game so I decided to delete the beta all together. It was decent when I played it.
 
I have a PS3 key, I'm in the UK I don't know if that matters. I've really no interest in these sorts of games so first person to quote me gets it.

I got an email from Ubisoft saying I could just start up Splinter Cell Conviction and download the beta from there. I just can't find it anywhere. Am I blind?

Yeah. Especially if they don't tweak the objectives for the objective-loading-loading mode, whatever it's called. Put the intel you're supposed to hold from the non-Ghost team in the mill where it's a colossal chokepoint. BRILLIANT.

Another thing that kinda irks me is the placement of the objectives to basically make you totally a target to shoot. I guess that's where "team work" comes in, but I can put smoke on the objective, rush in and start to arm and get shot because I'm completely exposed even though I'm in smoke. Why isn't there an "objective arm from afar" range since this is supposed to be "future soldier?" You'd think in the future they would have something Splinter Cell did in 2003 (though 2007 in-game-time) with the wrist computer: FUCKING WIFI HACKING.
 
After sinking my teeth into GR:FS there're really isnt much variety in the character customization options, all you have to chose from are headskins? it needs to be alot more extensive than that, im already tired of the same 3 character types for each faction.

options for changing vest,pants,tops,gloves,boots & pads would have been so much better, kinda like Rainbow Six Vegas (2006) but without the ridiculousness of pink colored camo just keep them appropriat and realistically grounded for each class, such a wasted opportunity imo, i understand needing to generalize the enemy classes but some individuality to them couldn't hurt.

The scout backpack is laughable bad, it gets in the way of your aiming while left triggering, while laying down you will see the backpack completely obstructing you view. im really hoping more characterization get into the game as it stands we need more personalized options.

Also some clothing could impact stats making the rifleman weaker/slower with certain gear...nvm, idk... cbf explaining lol

Has anybody gotten their 3 promised keys from ubisoft by using the splinter cell disc? I swear I checked my email a couple times but i havent gotten it.

is tehre something im missing
 
man incendiary grenades are the most useless thing in the game.
Its like a little flare that the enemies have to run through to die.

the soldiers screaming on fire does sound hilarious through.

I agree. The screams have caused me quite some hearty laughs yesterday^^

I'm still not sold on the games potential as a viable competitive shooter. The balancing issues and the unlock system just disqualify it as a game that is worth it to compete against others in a balanced and fair way that rewards skill over time investment.

But, the cooperative modes should be simply amazing, given how great the game controls, coupled with the gun customization, this could become the de-facto coop shooter of 2012.
 
Suppression is so damned effective, why don't more people use it? They don't like controlling the recoil on LMGs?

Supression is only effective when working in teams and have a coordinated attack or defense set up.
supressing someone without having a flanking movement going on at the same time is pretty useless and does nothing more than paint you for the next sniper.

As this Beta highlights once again that console players at large seem to be unable to play cooperatively in any capacity, it's not surprising to see no one using a feature that is dedicated to team oriented play.

Shit, I use it to flank. Two 3 round bursts and the person is suppressed, then you can move up on them while they take an accuracy penalty. Also, if you're shooting at someone even out of cover they take the shot penalty.

I used it a handful of times, with random teammates, and it wasn't effective enough. I earned the bonus points for doing it, but it didn't really work as intended, because my team was not taking advantage of the suppressive fire.

I actually was with randoms last night for a few matches and eventually they learned if I was firing in a direction they needed to go flush it out. Was pretty cool to see.

The LMG sound is so distinctive the entire map knows what's going on when you're doing it.

I agree. It's amazing when used correctly and is actually a great way to cancel out Intel advantages, as the person under fire won't have time to actually look at where the enemies are. I normally either use the scout or the Engineer, and flanking becomes so much easier when you're provided with covering fire. The amount of basically free kills I've gotten thanks to suppression from teammates is great.

I rarely have enough luck though to be paired up with randoms that understand the game beyond the basic controls. It's depressing to see how people play this game like any other Team Deathmatch.
 
Sabotage isn't bad because you can spawn instantly. Issue is when you aren't able to spawn instantly because the game "locks up" for like two minutes before letting you spawn. WTF?
 
Is anyone seeing the pipeline map glitching besides me? 4/5 matches had people on the other side under the map!

There needs to be a suicide button or something because its getting quite common on my end.

Riflemen are over-powered:
  • Increased minimum recoil for the ACR and AK200 to align them more closely with the other assault rifles.
  • Reduced maximum assault rifle damage range, making the sniper rifle more valuable.
  • Increased minimum damage of SMGS, making them more effective against all classes at further ranges.
  • Dramatically reduced the radius of the heartbeat sensor.
Additional Weapon changes:
  • Reduced the dispersion to make handguns generally more effective, especially for the bomb carrier.
  • Adjusted shotgun effectiveness.
XP adjustments:
  • Adjusted XP values for Confidence & Hack Objective.
Additional Equipment changes:
  • Adjusted Flash Bang Duration.
  • Adjusted Flash Bulb reload time.
  • Adjusted EMP air burst radius for EMPs launched by a underbarrel or standalone grenade launcher.
  • Adjusted the amount of UAVs in match.
  • Increased the duration of the Sensor to make them more susceptible to countering.

Is it just me or do the Ghost soldiers look less advanced than in GRAW?

they also lack some of the futuristic guns they had in GRAW and its set 10+ years later.
