It's times like this, watching the Meme Run quick look,I feel the need to mention that I had no problem with XLIG in theory, with XBLA being curated. Microsoft did a terrible job of it, specifically with their slot system and requiring a publisher, but this game should be in some "enter at your own risk" ghetto. Let them make games and get a dollar if somebody finds it in that sea of student projects, but there's no reason to put games like this on the storefront.


edit: Also, with Brad's question about meme ownership, I was looking into it recently. One guy manages keyboard cat, grumpy cat, and a handful of people who have had their pictures used for memes. He seems to have a successful business for himself out of suing for improper use and sale of meme pictures.

The only thing worse than a meme compilation being sold for money is a LAZY meme compilation being sold for money. There's like... less than 10 memes in your meme run game. I can't tell if they were afraid of a lawsuit or what.

This RE Remaster QL hurts me. I tried out free movement and after 2 seconds of testing I knew how broken it is, followed by 5 seconds of laughing at the existence of that control scheme in the game.

So much of that game is masterfully designed, it's shocking, and this is my first time playing the remastered edition (Gamecube or otherwise).

ah right, this is a different cat I believe. He talked about it years ago. Not sure what happened to "Cat" but I assumed it is no longer in the picture.

Yeah, it just breaks the game and removes a lot of the tension. I don't really understand the hate for tank controls though.

I am sure there is value in setting up your own equipment - but as a value proposition, is it really worth Vinny spending a month setting up his new studio when CBS could have paid a professional to do it in a couple of days. I would bet they already employ such professionals, they are a TV network after all.

I wonder if they have that corporate bullshit where News looks down on Factual Programming, who look down on Sports, who look down on Entertainment and everyone looks down on the internet division.

It's totally okay to hate the fuck out of tank controls. It's super archaic especially to people who've played modern action games with free movement, but that's the way the game was designed, even the enemies follow the same rules (slow turning speed, only forward movement, capability to 180 turn) so allowing you to break the rules ruins the game.

Whether you like being broken is another question entirely.

It comes down to the production pipeline and if Vinny has a specific vision for how GBeast should work it probably makes more sense to eat that month and get all the specific details that he requires in the right place. That way he already knows where everything is once that is done and he doesn't need to spend as much time familiarising himself with the quirks of a studio that someone else set up based upon approximations of what was needed.

the frog comes from somethingawful. it was a plush doll in the background of some pornstar's picture and they thought it was hilarious

they turned it into an emote. at one point they turned the frog into a dog and there was a photoshop thread on SA and then they combined the dog with the :smug: emote to make a smug dug and I drew a pair of pixel sunglasses for the smugdog and made the sunglasses fall down on the dog's face with the words "deal with it" appearing to vaguely reference past SA memes and I have felt guilty about unleashing that bullshit on the internet ever since

the spinning comes from some thing with a parrot, idk
