Yes, Dan defines his entire world by what 12 year old Dan imagined a "cool guy" would like. That's what makes him great.

Scientist is great. I didn't really know what dub was as a kid until GTA III had that radio station that played all the Scientist tracks. I even ended up buying that album "Scientist Rids the World from the Evil Curse of Vampires".

I was just thinking about this! I was really into that album at the time and listened to it recently and was surprised how dub it is and how much melodica is on it. Laika Come Home is OK too.

I keep putting off listening to it, even though it's probably right up my alley. I think I just got burned out on them after all of the b-side albums and disappointing follow-ups.
