I agree. Superfluous tortilla. It does work as an edible plate for catching syrup if you find that you must have more flour and syrup in your diet after eating the rest.

I legitimately think Simon's Quest is a good game- IF you have a guide that lets you bypass all the stupid trial and error of how to get around the game world.
