I find it odd that it's possible to know this much about a gaming personality's political preferences. I'm glad the giant bomb guys stay away from that stuff.

except for their whole weird official website wide endorsement of Nader in 2008

but nobody talks about that anymore

Ever since he went to Kinda Funny he's had more of an outlet to discuss that, since they do non gaming podcasts now.

I just meant that I find it odd that he's so open with that stuff. I wasn't making a judgement about the poster.

I think, because of the fact he lives in San Francisco, one of the most liberal cities in America (possibly the world), he makes sure he does not get labeled as a stereotype. There have been plenty of times were people have bashed Colin for views he does not hold. And that's a real shame. While I am not a political person (even in the slightest), I can't stand partisanship and the way things are boiled down to black and white extremes.

man if only we had a black and white extreme political system and not just a great brown smear with several names

colin makes me physically angry.
Which is a shame because i love greg

Greg's really, really enthusiastic, which is kind of off-putting to me, but he seems sincere and friendly so he doesn't bother me that much.

Colin...posts on GAF, so I deleted a very long post and then a rather short post about him.

He has a Don't Tread On Me avatar on twitter which really says everything you need to know about him. I can't stand his stupid fucking face and I still laugh at that Mass Effect 3 gamer entitlement video he made at IGN.

Absolute fucking tool

Giant Bomb though, those guys are cool. Kinda Funny can have Dan tho then I can ignore all of them all at once.

I usually think you're pretty level-headed about things but Jesus Christ, dude

And GDC isn't on at the same time as PAX this year, so we'll (hoofully) get a long interview stream from GB.

Wasn't it GDC 2014 when they did that crazy after hours thing with Dave Lang, John Vignocchi, and Ed Boon? I remember people joking that Adam Boyes was smart not to be there.

Edit- YUP!

I forgot about the Galak-Z bit and the guy from EA defending that one game.

Guys, I just have to tell you how great the Powerbombcast could be in the future.

They move forward with their follow along, bookclub like concept. There are now always two episodes, monthly or if they want to go all out on it maybe even bimonthly. The host changes each time.

First is the pitch episode. The host presents the topic for the next episode, which is ultimately what he has been watching as of late. Let it be a special feud, a certain timeframe, superstar or match type. The host explains why he found that to be particularly interesting. The others pitch in and say what they remember or associate with that, we get a general discussion preview. Back to the host who now points out the shows that stood out to him and with that the assignment on what to watch till next time (maybe differentiate between essential and additional content depending on interest and time available).

Followed by the main episode weeks later which then discusses that suspect in all detail, silliness, excitement, importance and what not.

I would absolutely love that. I don't know a whole lot about wrestling but would like to get into it, that being the older, good stuff. However on my own I'm probably never going to seek out what it is I should or could be watching and I'm fairly sure I wouldn't be as motivated to keep at it. But this way I could totally see myself ride along and getting my money worth out of a WWE Network subscription.

Sadly chances are though it's not going to be even close to this.

Still trudging through this week's Beastcast, but it's tough. If the Vinny's old bit imagining the other Nintendo characters convincing Mario to murder his brother to finally put an end to the Year of the Luigi is the perfect podcast segment, his role playing of a Gamestop employee trying to convince a parent to buy Song of the Deep might be its exact opposite.

2013 GDC was also where we learned the various things you can do with cakes and pies.

So was 2015 a special case, where PAX East and GDC coincided? I recall something along those lines. Any word what the scheduling is this year?

GDC is March 14th-18th, Pax East is April 22nd-24th this year

In 2013 GDC started the day after Pax East ended.

After listening to the latest Beastcast, I understand why people weren't so hot on it. Vinny had no off switch, and I think Austin's (typically infectious) enthusiasm towards pretty much any bit they do kind of exacerbated it. They don't really have that Brad Shoemaker equivalent that can reign it in and keep stuff on track.

Colin just claimed Resistance 3 is the best shooter of all time, so Greg/Colin podcast is still for crazy people.

I loved Resistance 3, but yeah, I definitely wouldn't call it the best. Though, to be fair, he praised it for its story, not its graphics or gameplay. I understand where he is coming from. He is an American History junkie. In fact, he has a Bachelor's Degree in that very subject. So, the concept that the Resistance series takes place in an alternate history (especially the parts that deal with the US) sold him immediately. It's the same reason he keeps bringing up Amazon's live-action adaptation of The Man in the High Castle. It's based on a story from Phillip K. Dick, in which the Axis powers won WWII and Japan occupied the US on the west coast and Germany did the same on the east coast.

I bought Gang Beast to play against my kids after watching it played so many times on UPF. Not really a fan the controls feel unresponsive and everything feels clunky as shit. We usually play a few matches and end up turning it off and switching over to Rocket League. Not sure why GB likes that game so much.
