Yeah basically. You want those suckers out ASAP to get more chances for coins. Good players will try to overwrite them though.

It's best when you have multiple orbs in a straight line though.

You should also drop them on red spaces / koopa kid spaces to minimize the amount of "bad" spaces for you to land on during your turn.
