Yes, I hate him asking stupid questions. He's a grown-ass man with the life experience of a child and somehow doesn't understand how dumb and severely out-of-touch he sounds when he's discussing anything beyond wrestling and video games.

He knows exactly how dumb and out of touch he sounds. He thrives off of it.

Let him ask questions, I actually enjoyed when they did that science quiz on the Beastcast a few weeks ago. It's usually the people who don't know the answer but scoff at him asking it that come off looking worse, anyway.

I've watched other playthroughs of Shenmue, including ones where the participants are actively drinking and the effects become apparent, and I feel like GB's has been the least eventful one I've seen yet.

I'm the kinda guy who felt twinges of schadenfreude at the torments of the Shenmue fanbase over the decade, and has severe skepticism about Shenmue III, but I dunno, like I said in the other thread it feels like they're trying to brute force their way through the game and the result is obvious.

It does feel a little forced. It seems to me like they're paying less attention to the story than they did for Persona 4 and Deadly Premonition. You have to progress through the tasks in your notebook to get more story but they're wandering around a lot and overlooking things and then they get outside of the time window for the things they need to do. So their disinterest continues to grow.

No point in complaining about it, though. Since the ER is already in the can it is what it is.

There's no anger, I'm irritated and a little sad that we'll be going from a thoughtful person like Austin to Dan the Ignoramous. I was able to avoid him for a year by just skipping all the west coast content but it'll be harder to do that now.

If you value Austin's opinions then why does the fact that Austin is obviously quite fond of Dan mean nothing to you?

Yeah, that's the disadvantage of having it already recorded.

In Persona 4 ER they would read a few comments explaining some of the more obscure stuff and it made it a much better experience in the following episodes.

There probably isn't a worse way to play Shenmue than in three, seven-hour chunks. Anyone would be playing the game "wrong" under those circumstances.

They did, but you can't extend memberships with the paypal option, nor buy gift subs with it. There was a sale earlier in the year but my sub was active, lapsed in August, and now a sale again. I'll try Rorie, duder has definitely helped me out in the past, but doubt he can do anything in regards to this payment setup.

He has overcome many obstacles to get where he is today including mental illness which he is very well informed about and has written several books including one about his ordeal with aforementioned Anxiety, a book that helped me greatly to deal with my issues.

He lived a very sheltered life and he's the first to admit it, but he got where is through hard work and by asking questions about things he doesn't understand. I think you not giving him a chance and calling him these names says more about you than it does him.

It's not like these are mutually exclusive. I don't go to Giant Bomb expecting to see expert play, it's the commentary and personalties that make their stuff entertaining. That said, they're even slower at picking up what the game is putting down than I expected.
