100% not resubbing when the time comes. It's just not worth it anymore. The infrequent premium content they put out is incredibly lackluster. If they don't care anymore, why should I?

The ramp up of premium content during that sale, then dropping off completely when it ended was nothing but a lame cash grab, even if unintentional.

There's always some excuse for the lack of content: preE3, post E3, summer lull, too many games, not enough games, GOTY, after GOTY...

And 'work from home' Mondays seem to be panning out so well for them...

The content I enjoy most these days is free anyway. Premium is a tip jar at this point.

Those points are fair, I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt a bit slighted by the convenient bump in content around the sale time and then it promptly falling off a cliff in frequency after that.

My sub is up in January and I'm not sure I'll be renewing, for the first time since joining years ago. The features I enjoy most are so infrequent that I don't feel I'll be missing out too much honestly. It's a tired conversation at this point but it's still crazy to me why they can't bang out something as straight-forward as a Game Tapes with a modicum of frequency.

Edit: I picked up Final Fantasy on a whim after not really playing any of them before and the accents make me want to die. I'm not sure I'll stick with it but there's some charm around the edges and at least it's one of the shorter (??) entries.

Just to clarify from my previous post, but I meant that $5 a month felt like a small amount of money in terms of the amount of entertainment I get back every month. I love the guys and don't mind chipping in my sub fee to help the site, even though the amount of actual subscriber-only stuff is minimal.

I didn't mean to suggest that it was an insignificant sum of money, or that people shouldn't care about what they receive in return for their cash. Everyone's got their own financial circumstances to take into account afterall, so I hope I didn't offend anyone.

As in for regular desktop use? Virtually anything can render two desktops. Only need to start checking specs if its something a bit specialist, like 5k monitors.

It's not particularly demanding, most onboard graphics can push 2 monitors. If you're planning on playing a game on one and streaming video on the other, it'll be demanding on both CPU and GPU.

Damn.

I usually stream netflix and WoW on one monitor, itd be more demanding to do it on two o:?

Okay let's mix it up: what are your picks for Best Moment or Sequence?

For me it's:
DOOM - Title Card
The Witness - The Challenge
The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine - Beyond Hill and Dale (winner)

For The Witness, I would say it's more
the first time you realize there are puzzles outside of the regular puzzle monitors.
Blew me right the fuck away and gave a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

Then again, never completed the Challenge, so...

I am lucky to be in a position where I can pay $5 a month just to support people who have given me a ton of entertainment over the last decade, but totally respect people who can't or don't feel like it's worth it anymore.

I haven't been able to keep up with much other than the podcasts the last few months, but even I've noticed premium content has kinda dropped off

bish gets all the credit :)
They should charge $3 per premium video. I'd probably spend less than $20 a year that way.

I know they like running fast and loose, but you have to communicate with your viewership, especially on a personality based website. They're essentially running a season pass, whereas you have no idea what you're paying for, but you expect to like it. Problem is, they've been a Ubisoft season pass for the last few years.

Hitman - Exploding golf ball
Hitman - Your first kill by throwing something
Overwatch - Reviving your entire team as Mercy

I'm not renewing in May when my sub is up if they don't get it together. Like what regular content am I paying for right now? A podcast about a fake sport I don't watch and a middling Friday show that's pretty much just them going through the motions? Youtubers have better content plans.

Problem with that one for me was that I already suspected it after watching the Quick Look and then confirmed it within an hour of starting the game. So didn't have much impact.

Activating your first video
was another really good moment though.

The opening of Firewatch is probably my favourite. The ending of Furi is probably up there for me too.

The gb top 3 will probably be some variation of

Titanfall button prompt
Doom title card
Inside
Any moment from Hitdan
Witness "+ puzzles"

The Doom title drop is a solid contender but I think Gary Busey might beat it for Brad.

For me it was the mission in XCOM 2 where I first encountered Andromedons. Because that was also the mission I first saw a Sectopod. I can vividly remember every moment of that mission, it was the most intense shit I've ever seen in a turn based game.

For me it was
activating a video and then realizing that there was a puzzle that involved lining part of the video up with the environment around it

I really need to get back to this game. Such a great game.

There hasn't been a Powerbombcast in months. You're not paying for that.

Dos this look a bit like Jeff, or is it just me?

For me, the moments list is:

The Witness -
Discovering puzzles in the environment
Titanfall 2 -
Time switching
DOOM - Title card
Inside - The last 10 minutes

Inside, and any other game where their best moment is the only good moment, should be automatically disqualified.

The entire industry needs to push back against how accepting we are to slog through x hours of the mundane, just for y minutes of enjoyment.

For those who say they don't want to renew their subs, cancel the recurring billing plan if you haven't, there's a little feedback box. I filed my grievances. I think Rorie actually reads them so maybe they will take note if they get a bunch of similar feedback. Just be reasonable and polite.

I think it's definitely true what someone said, it always feels like there is some excuse: almost E3, busy with too many games, or not enough games, etc.

Wrong about commas, wrong about everything
Mass Effect Andromeda looked neat until they introduced the "collect Lithium" thing. I really don't want to run around a map picking up more elfroot, god dammit.
Crafting is a gameplay gimmick that needs to die a quick and painful death.

It'd at least be tolerable if you didn't have to stop and harvest resources, like just let me proximity gather that shit.
