Anyone know when GB are doing the X1 live stream? I wanna watch if it's going to be as hilarious as the one from The Verge.

Yeah calling it a "meltdown" is like "Jeff hates irl Brad bc of that DR3 quicklook" levels of exaggeration.

It was a total nerd meltdown. He looked like he was going to cry at one point when Dave took his book off him. Not the same as "Jeff hates Brad" because that is just not true.

I agree it wasn't really a big deal for them or anyone watching. More funny than anything. I know a lot of people irl like Ian - who I respect and can work with, but would not want to ever socialise with.

Err, they pretty much say that the graphics are shit, the gameplay is boring and the cutscenes aren't very funny.

Yeah, they didn't really gave it a pass at all. Also, while the game looks bad compared to the other lauch stuff, it's also made for a fraction of the cost by a very small team. It's like how indie games are still going to look the same as on the previous consoles as well.

Can't believe he defeated kalameet.

He got some amazing RNG at the end of that fight, Kalameet kept spamming the Fire blast attack where he stands on his hind legs over and over while Vinny whacked at his heels. Great fight though, glad that Vinny denied a lot of help and fought through it himself. He is also keeping cool and not getting too frustrated or dejected by deaths.

Looking forward to the rest of the DLC, Manus and eventually Gwyn.

In terms of cost and return I would assume Giant Bomb absolutely stomps on Gamespot. Gamespot's site numbers are obviously higher but their production costs are probably significantly higher as well. Giant Bomb runs on a skeleton crew and yet it has a huge viewership, premium subs, podcast listeners etc.

It wasn't a huge deal, but it was sort of surprising. He acted really childish. There definitely seems to be a sense of animosity between the two in a way that's NOT the total conspiracy theory type thing that usually goes on here.

I think they don't really like each other. That's not saying that they're purposely malicious to each other, just that if they were both sitting alone in a room together, they'd both probably rather play on their phones than strike up a conversation.

I watched that Crimson Dragon QL... god damn do I love Vinny!

"Are you............................. going to keep playing this?"

Patrick really confused me throughout that. He talked about how bad it was but defended every negative point made by the others, even the awful microtransactions.

Dark Souls really captured this generation in a lot of ways. It was a game that was made popular due to social media and word of mouth. It was really special to "be there" when the game came out, as everyone was discovering and learning about it as we went along. It spawned countless memes, it helped popularize the "rouge-lite" style of design, and championed clever ways of storytelling while keeping the gameplay in focus.

It's the only game this generation that I played purely for the "gameplay".

Demon's Souls is the game that did all of that.

Even if they aren't new, I'll take Warframe, DCUO, and Blacklight over Xbone's downloadable stuff any day of the week. Though in fairness, I do not like non-Divekick fighting games, so Killer Instinct isn't appealing to me.

Really looking forward to seeing Quick Looks for 3D World and the new Zelda. While all these launch titles are shitting the bed, Nintendo is apparently killing it. Who's playing Zelda for GB?

Pretty sure it's just a joke about next quarter's budget (that'd be in a few months).

Apparently Jeff said on a drive mixlr that Vinny had the budget for a new green screen next year. GS already has a dedicated green room.

Brad is on zelda. They have that silly "5 minutes max video"embargo until launch.

Also the wii u is year old. Unfair to compare with launch titles.

Yeah it's a shame the xbla games are weak aside from KI. Would have been nice if there was a new Geometry Wars or something like that. At least their retail launch is pretty strong.

Yeah that is super shitty. I hope it doesn't pay off for them, but looking at how well F2P is doing it just might. :(

Though them being paid games might mitigate it.
