As a teacher i can wholeheartedly say that this is one of the worst things you could ever say (especially when a big percentage of your audience attends high school/college) and if that's your actual attitude in your late twenties then you probably can't be helped.

I would have guessed that when people say it's a terrible game, it's because they don't like it, which happens to be the only thing that matters about games, not whether other folks like it or it's well reviewed.
I'm totally with Dan on this one (still haven't tried Last Light). Metro 2033 was so boring I couldn't play more than a few hours. Go Dan!

metro 2033 is the best single player FPS since Half Life 2 in regards to atmosphere. You'd be doing yourself a disservice by missing out on that game.
I haven't seen the quick look, but im venturing to say that dan isn't into it? that's fine. If i got my jimmies rustled every time jeff or someone else didn't like a game i liked i'd be all out of jimmies.

Man I wish they had kept up with their "we're playing dark souls too" series.
I'd actually like to see alex's reaction to the game in the presence of someone who likes it, even if he doesn't change his mind about it. I don't think he's ever played a souls game, just thinks they're not for him, so it would be interesting to see if he comes around on that at all after seeing it.
I was honestly surprised that Brad stopped playing. His initial impressions were glowing. Anyone remember the reason?

I agree with Dan that the Metro games take forever to get going, and even when they do they're not very good. Never got through either one. Still, no point in harping on and on about it like that.
I think that applies to everything, not just MGS.
He's stupid for not liking that he has to wipe his mask off in a game? OK.

So why are some of you getting bent out of shape that he doesn't like Metro? Sure he expresses it how he always does "this is dumb" "this is stupid" etc - but that is like 80% of GAF. He even rolls it back a bit commenting on how good it looks and how he can see people digging the atmosphere.
Hell I remember the first Metro getting similar criticisms about the shooting and the pacing. Personally, I hated the bullet currency mechanic.

It's amusing like the first 5 times you have to do it. The game is a chore. Maybe it's supposed to be! But nobody has to like that fact.

Losing Vinny was a massive blow to the site. Whoever replaced him had huge shoes to fill and I think Dan has done an ok job. He is entertaining but definitely has somewhat of an abrasive personality. Just sucks not having that constant source of positive energy and relentless desire to break games that Vinny brought to the table.

I was positive Alexis was drunk/stoned during the whole quicklook, he had a glimmer in his eye and a constant light smile mixed with occasional zoning out.
It will be a bloodbath. I'd say there's a solid 50/50 chance of Emcee following through and temp locking the thread.

Are you actually trying to say that Socrates' comprehension of knowledge and that statement by Dan are in any way resembling each other?
And even if they were, Socrates certainly didn't live in an information age, where your level of education is deciding upon the quality of your job (at least to a large degree)
