Vinny playing Dark Souls is one of my favorite things on the site. The way that he plays games and the way that game needs to be played combined in a way that almost made it better than the sum of its parts.

Totally. I remember a lot of HE'S PLAYING THE GAME WRONG, HERE'S 400 WORDS TO EXPLAIN WHY comments both here and on the site when each video hit though. People saying he was cheesing the game by going all out on a tank build
Also, I looked up Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery: Episode 01 on YT when I saw it on the schedule. That game looks weird.

Roll-dodging around like a goofball (like I did) is every bit as "cheesing" as tanking. Some people won't be happy unless someone is doing a naked run and only parrying attacks.

I don't know why, but it really bothers me you can run over people in roundabout.
It would be one thing if they just bounced off your car and got up and ran away, but them exploding into blood stains just feels weird and clashes with the style of the rest of the game.
Not really feeling the rest of that game though, I think FMV games were a product of an era, and should have stayed there.

Played it on Vita ages ago, it was a fun little game. Still waiting on Episode 2.

The best FMV games are adventure games anyway, if indie devs want to do FMV games they should look at those games. Like Phantasmagoria 2, the best FMV game ever.

The Hatoful Boyfriend QL sold me on the game. I now understand the interest in such a bird-brained concept. The writing, style... everything goes together so well to make such a work of art. That's right, Hatoful Boyfriend irrevocably proves that video games are an art form.

Yeh I've watched a bit of it, and it;s how I was slightly familiar with Dan from before he joined Giantbomb, and the E3 aftershow.
Apparently there will be some new Dan and his Dad videos for GB in the coming months.

Wow... I'm only 5 mins into the Hatoful QL.... I honestly can't imagine why the hell anyone would play this game. I'm getting kinda sick of the whole "it's so bad, so lets play it to be ironic" games. I've seen this game EVERYWHERE and it's not even funny bad. It's just plain bad. Anyways, rant over. I'll have this QL on in the background since I'm doing nothing else really, but man.... This is just stupid.

I watched about 30 minutes of the Second Life documentary on Netflix that Jeff talked about on the podcast. Second Life is incredibly disturbing yet weirdly fascinating.
It's just a neat visual novel. Part of the fun is the writing, with the crazy plot twists and what not. I think it gets attention because of its absurd premise. I don't think it's actually bad.
After reading how dark the game gets and watching Danny get the ending in which
the doctor bird tricks the protagonist into eating one of her friends, and then proceeds to decapitate her
Devolver should totally put this game on Vita!

Wow, I just looked at the wikipedia page of Hatoful Boyfriend and man, that story goes places. The quicklook video is really barely scratching the surface.
It cuts out after downloading for a few seconds. Even playing the video in my browser, stops after a few seconds.
