Should I bother finishing Twilight Princess? I think last time I played it was 4 years ago and I stopped right around getting the master sword, if I recall. I kinda always wanted to see where that story goes and why you're fighting ganon at the end and not zand or whatever.
I would say finish it if you're going to continue, since the start of the game is very longwinded with little to do. The dungeons get much better and some of the items introduced are the best on the series. They don't get utilised outside their dungeons, but they it helps increase the complexity of the dungeon design. The last boss is also rightfully epic. But don't expect any expansion in exploration, it will be going from point to point. You'll experience the weak design of the WW 'find these objects' quest after the second last dungeon, but it isn't too bad.
If you care for Zelda lore, there are some definite moments in the game that will link back to certain games.
EDIT: i would also hope you're playing it on gamecube as well, since there are more superior points to that version. The Wii version was fun while it came out, but I would advise people to play the Gamecube version if they haven't since:
Difefrences between Zelda TP Gamecube and Wii
- Control Differences
- In Wii you can cut grass while Link walks
- Game is flipped
- Wii has better aiming IR (Bow and clawshot really benefit form this)
- Gamecube has better controls for sword combat
- There are three slots for items in the Wii version, whereas the Gamecube version has only two (4 vs 3)
- Wii has a widescreen 16:9 option, whereas the Gamecube only allows for 4:3
- Gamecube has free camera control, whereas the Wii version does not
- Wii has the in built wii speaker for chimes and Midnas’s grunts (but the sound quality is awful)
