Should I bother finishing Twilight Princess? I think last time I played it was 4 years ago and I stopped right around getting the master sword, if I recall. I kinda always wanted to see where that story goes and why you're fighting ganon at the end and not zand or whatever.

You got to the point of the game where it mostly gets to business, business being playing awesome dungeons with not too much filler. I'd say go for it. The answer to your story question might be a little lacking though :p

As a big Zelda fan, Twilight Princess is one of my least favorites in the series. That being said, the parts near the end of the game are the best. If you're continuing from where you left off, I'd recommend finishing it.

Still doing catch up on the last 8 months of Giant Bomb content. Honestly beyond UPF, the current Metal Gear playthrough, and the Mario Party stuff, not much interesting content has come out. Do you guys have any recommendations for good videos that I might have missed?

Also, that Metro Redux Quick Look has to be the worst quick look GB has put out. Absolutely cringeworthy.

Your next dungeon is one of the best modern Zelda dungeons. So I'd say keep it going.

The first Demo Derby was good, second one not so much. I also really enjoyed all the Destiny videos, as well. It's too bad they've abandoned most of the Premium features.

Velvet Sundown QL. Vinny Plays Bot Colony. Don Bradman Cricket. Those are just from the top of my head, I actually think there has a been a lot of good content.

I would say finish it if you're going to continue, since the start of the game is very longwinded with little to do. The dungeons get much better and some of the items introduced are the best on the series. They don't get utilised outside their dungeons, but they it helps increase the complexity of the dungeon design. The last boss is also rightfully epic. But don't expect any expansion in exploration, it will be going from point to point. You'll experience the weak design of the WW 'find these objects' quest after the second last dungeon, but it isn't too bad.

If you care for Zelda lore, there are some definite moments in the game that will link back to certain games.

EDIT: i would also hope you're playing it on gamecube as well, since there are more superior points to that version. The Wii version was fun while it came out, but I would advise people to play the Gamecube version if they haven't since:

Difefrences between Zelda TP Gamecube and Wii

- Control Differences
- In Wii you can cut grass while Link walks
- Game is flipped
- Wii has better aiming IR (Bow and clawshot really benefit form this)
- Gamecube has better controls for sword combat
- There are three slots for items in the Wii version, whereas the Gamecube version has only two (4 vs 3)
- Wii has a widescreen 16:9 option, whereas the Gamecube only allows for 4:3
- Gamecube has free camera control, whereas the Wii version does not
- Wii has the in built wii speaker for chimes and Midnas’s grunts (but the sound quality is awful)

I feel like people are overly harsh on Twilight Princess. I played it several years ago and really enjoyed my time with it. Its a fun game.

Where are you people seeing a Hyrule Warriors QL?

Yeah, TP is actually one of my favourite games from the last gen. Not sure why so many people hate it

Gannon
pulls out all the stops in that one. It almost gets absurd.

True,
and I wish he wasn't in it for story development and the strength of Zant,
but for how easy the last part of the last boss is, it was incredibly epic given the sword combat battle and the music. Well at the time.

Basically it was Spaceworld 2000 Demo Zelda battle.

Yeah I don't know about roundabout. Nothing looks funny about it to me and the gameplay seems like it will get tiresome very quickly. The only redeeming thing about it may be the Ryan Davis statue in the centre of the city.

Bleh, I didn't like the changes that a Link Between Worlds made. I've never understood why 'linear' is such a dirty word on the Internet. Oh hooray, I can do dungeon six before dungeon four in this amazing non-linear experience. Said dungeons are now all easy as piss because any could be the 'first' one, and can't assume any prior knowledge/progression in the game.

I really just wish Twilight Princess Wii had Gamecube controller support. It just felt like such a Nintendo way of saying "No, fuck you, do things our way" and it was the first Zelda game I couldn't bring myself to finish as a result.

It's not a dirty word, in fact Four Swords Adventures is in my top 5 Zelda games. That game is the most linear out of all the Zelda's as it progresses in levels. But given that a lot of people loved the exploration or the illusion of an open world in the the original or some that followed, they identify that with the series and some are disappointed with the lack of adventure or exploration. Not feeling like you're exploring hidden caves and such, which is one of my qualms too. This is especially apparent in TP which sets itself up with a large field and world, but gives no illusion of an open world like OoT, or fails to give content worth exploring or suitable reward incentives for exploring the field following WW. It's a barren part of the world.

Definitely agree with this, the pointer stuff was cool, but waggling to swing your sword lost it's charm about ten minutes into the game.

It always bugged me how the Wii version was flipped too. I could never shake the idea that I was playing in a 'wrong' version of the world that the designers never intended.

Yep. The guy they interviewed seems like he is always using Giant Bomb stuff to push his products. He developed the awful Drake Tracker 2000 (or whatever it was called) also.

This looks like it gets old after 2 minutes. It is extremely repetitive and the FMV videos aren't even funny or amusing in the least.

In addition to the other stuff mentioned, make sure to check out (from memory, sure there's more so far back that I don't remember) the Gang Beasts QL,CD-i stream, Vinny's Premium features on both Bot Colony and Velvet Sundown in addition to the mentioned QLs, TMNT Training Lair QL, Mount Your Friends QL, Lethal League QL, Pineview Drive QL, Kinect Sports Rivals QL,

edit: Wasn't VinnyVania and Breaking Brad: Demon's Souls also less than 8 months ago?

Yeah, how dare
former Harmonix employee
Dan Teasdale steal Giant Bomb friends like
former Harmonix employee
John Drake! Where does he get off shoving himself into their content
such as his own friends and coworkers
.

And his nerve, making an FMV game just to take advantage of Giant Bomb's love of FMV games? What has he ever done for the genre
aside from working on the Gunstringer, an FMV game

Tucah

you speak so well
I'm still bitter that they didn't follow up on the cliffhanger in Darksiders 1 with Darksiders 2!

One of the most frustrating gaming experiences of last gen was realizing that the story of Darksiders 2 wouldn't go past the ending of 1.

I noticed how you failed to address the more relevant part of my post

"It looks like it gets old after 2 minutes. It is extremely repetitive and the FMV videos aren't even funny or amusing in the least"

FMVs done right could be funny. This isn't funny at all. How many times do I need to see the driver's blank expression?

More power to him if he is using old connections to try to sell this junk.

I like Dan.
But yeah, I can't say I found the FMV's very funny or interesting.

He makes a lot of things that are inside jokes. And that is fine. But when you charge $20, i need more than inside jokes.

Nothing at all wrong with liking a musou game.

Now, when you start liking 2 or 3 or 429, that's when the troubles begin.

Nah, I'm just kidding. HW is my first Musou game so I didn't have much of an opinion prior to that.

If you have a PS3, give Basara 4 a shot. It's really fun and the combat is so much better than any koei musou in my opinion.

Hm, I don't, but I'll keep that series in mind, thanks!

I dunno, Roundabout just looks like a more open Kururuin to me. The FMV seems perhaps a bit too frequent, though? Maybe they should have put it in-window rather than cutting away from the game for it.

Put a rear-view mirror at the top of the screen and have Kate Welch's face reacting to shit in there, Carmageddon style.

It just reminds me of the Yes song, so they should just put that in the game.

I just...I love that Dan basically asumed that Danny sat alone in a room and talked to himself in different voices while playing Hatoful Boyfriend.
