God damn, every so often I wonder if I could make a video game, but then I see something as genius as Hack n Slash and realise I am nowhere near creative enough.

No Ryan, then no Patrick, then no Vinny and now instead we have Dan, ugh. What a fucking downgrade. Dan also brings out the worst in Jeff and has pushed the one redeeming person of the podcast, Drew further in the background. I made it 5 minutes in this week before I deleted it.

With that, I am done with bombcast. I still enjoy the website, but this podcast has gone from bearable to absolute shit these days with the addition of Dan. It was a really good run though. Cheers, hope the rest of you can continue to enjoy it, but I can't listen to another minute of their disgusting food talk for an hour or Dan try to glorify the life of a complete scumbag simpleton with Jeff playing the enabler. I will probably tune in during E3's though.

I am playing a sad violin for you mate.

Satelite radio lost relevance with the advent of streaming from my phone to me.
Satellite radio was cool for the first like week of having it but then I remembered I have an iPhone with all my music I want to hear on it and would rather do it that way.

Are you a programmer?

I have a basic to intermediate grasp in coding and it's doing my head in.
Designer, but have a handle on some basic coding. Hack n Slash is also reminding me that back in the day I played around with RPG Maker's fairly basic scripting (but in game obviously) and the times in which I racked my brain attempting to get objects to perform in specific ways.

At any rate novel game mechanic that more games should endeavour to explore in future. Imagine a Watch Dogs game that had a good story and actual hacking.

Edit: Turns out Vinny is a bonafide Time Trotter.

Also 5 minutes into this podcast they were talking about porn stations on satellite radio.

What's not to like?
I turned on the Bombcast yesterday while my friend (a non-listener) and I were making dinner. We had finished cooking by the time they started talking about Destiny and made it clear that it was a video game podcast.

Good episode.

also i'm not sure why Dan is being blamed for some things the podcast did before he was hired.

food/non gaming talk? yep
jeff's crazy stories? yep
jeff crazy opinions/tastes? yep
drew's mostly non gaming adventures? yep

Dan just adds himself as another potential member of Jeff's crazy tastes squad but his stories are basically on the other end of the spectrum (Jeff is like some thug life shit that could have been harmful, Dan is like Homer Simpson happy go lucky shit that somehow could have been harmful).

Plus i highly disagree on the Drew thing since he has gotten more active, just needs some more gaming talk imo.

Its sucks that the other guys are no longer there (as i would have liked them to witness this Dan stuff first hand) but hey...

What did you like about the bombcast before? Do you wish it was just more game oriented?

who is frank grimes

Simpsons character. He was amazed at how Homer could bumble through life and succeed so much when he had to work hard for even the smallest things. Eventually he had a mental breakdown and while making fun of Homer he electrocuted himself and died.
Probably the darkest Simpsons episode.

A character from an episode of The Simpsons. He was a new co-worker of Homer's and was constantly baffled and appalled by Homer's idiocy and ignorance in spite of all he's done in life.. He dies from electrocution after mocking Homer and the way he lucks out of dangerous situations.

His son later tries to murder Homer.

That being said, Dan is no Homer Simpson. He's not an idiot.

I have a fairly intermediate grasp in javascript so I do understand how some of it functions but I can only barely grasp some of the language used, though I probably could understand more once I study it.

Hopefully there would be tutorials when they introduced this mechanic because man, I can't imagine anyone with no grasp in programming actually finishing this game. Though in that way it would be really cool if this game is able to teach people how to code.

It was hilarious seeing vinny essentially breaking the game though.

Whenever Brad talks about not playing the recent console Zelda games it sounds like he is somewhat bragging about it, not having to be saddled with them. They are by no means my favourite games but it comes across as odd. Maybe I'm misinterpreting his tone.

This game was made for Vinny to break.

Dunno about the state of computer literacy these days, but I feel like scripting is fairly intuitive if you're given the freedom to experiment and see the direct result of your actions (as the game does) so it should be fairly easy to pick up while you're playing.

Programming should be a core class in high/middle school, or hell even primary school. It would beat some logical thinking into those kids.

Hack 'n' Slash is such a great idea. Now I kinda don't want to finish the Quick Look so I can figure out ways to break it on my own.

I feel like it has gone down because everything just works now. I'm not great at computers but I've become the defacto IT person in my family. I would get asked by younger family members to fix their internet when they just aren't connected to a WiFi point or their computer is running slow because they installed a bunch of adware on their computer and browser on accident.

Maybe it's just the school my friend's kid goes to, but here in the UK they are in primary school. They do simple logic problems and sequence the actions of a robot using some drag and drop tool. Seems like really good stuff.

I don't love Dan in Quick Looks, but the man is gold in the podcast booth. This week when it slowly dawned on Brad that Dan hasn't actually eaten a pear in 15 years and that his knowledge of their taste came from jelly bellies . . . Gold.

The Brad-Dan interactions are my favourite. It's as if Brad questions the possibility of Dan's very existence as a human being.

Okay, yeah, just got to the section you guys were referring to. You're right, most folks will probably shake their heads at that and just go 'Nope!'

I saw people claiming that Dan is the only one who doesn't read up how much a game costs before doing a QL. Soo........

I love how all the hate Patrick got has been magically transferred to Dan.

How much things change, how much things stay the same.

He's also the only one who's ever been negative about a game he doesn't know anything about. First person ever in history actually. Before Dan, everything on the internet was positive.

Eh, that's how I hear it too. Same with Mario Kart. It's a weird thing, so thoroughly prejudging things.

It's kind of similar to how Dan does things, really :p

No way man. Not even close. Even now patrick gets waaaaaay more hate than Dan for equally dumb reasons.

You don't see a group of youtubers solely dedicated to downvoting every video he's in.
