Discussing the Zoe Quinn thing is off limits.

Thank you. :)

I watched the Vinny/Dave Lunar Flight thing and it finally clicked with me why I love watching Vinny play games so much. We share the same love of "what happens if..." and then doing it .

Finding the limits of what a game engine can handle or figuring out how to abuse mechanics is sometimes more fun than playing the game.

Listening to the latest powerbombcast... And fuck, is there anything Jeff doesn't hate? Dude is literally the only person I've heard that didn't enjoy the lesnar promos going into summer slam, including the internet wrestling community, which hates fucking EVERYTHING.

Apologies if this has already been posted recently, but if anyone wants to discover more of the true nature of Dan Ryckert, this video is a pretty incredible listen.

It's ostensibly (thanks Patrick) about someone trying to beat mike tyson in Punch-Out, but really the first 45 minutes are just people, Dan included, detailing his less-than-saintly exploits.

Also, it's pretty damn funny!

Gonna watch this later but it's a Breaking Brad type thing, I assume? With how intense Dan gets he'd be pretty fantastic in a Breaking Brad, they could call it Destroying Dan.

I just paid for a months subscription of the WWE Network. I'm already learning so much.

Mick Foley is missing parts of his body.
Shawn Michaels and Shane Douglas almost have the same name and voice.
Brock Lesnar can get really red.

So I am considering getting into World of Warcraft. But it is kind of confusing.

"World of Warcraft" the $20 product now includes all the expansions except for Mists of Pandaria right? So if I buy World of Warcraft and Mists of Pandaria I have all the currently released expansions?

What are the typical beginner builds that are soloable? Or if this is too crazy a question to easily answer, what are some good websites that discuss this?

The Powerbombcast is pretty great but I kind of wish they did a follow up after PPV's instead of just doing a episode the week before each PPV.

Maybe now they are all in the same office (exempt Jared) they could do pre and post PPV podcasts

Yes, and I believe Mists of Pandaria is on special at the moment for cheap.

Pretty much every build is soloable. You don't need to group at all while leveling up, except for dungeons, and if you use the dungeon finder it'll take care of that for you automatically.

Dont do it, we may never see you again!

I just recently got into WoW myself. Your assessment is correct about the $20 covering everything up to but not including Pandaria. However, if you're gonna buy, I'd recommend downloading the free starter edition first. Downloading the starter edition entitles you to the same amount of content for $10 instead of $20 via an "upgrade" offer that pops up whenever you log in.

Can't really help on the best classes for soloing bit, though. I've been tinkering around with a few different characters, my favorite so far being a Blood Elf Hunter. Hunters use ranged bow attacks and also have a pet that battles alongside them, so that seems to be pretty viable for going solo. My paladin is also pretty decent on his own; his strength lets him knock most enemies on their asses, and he's also got some healing spells that up his survivability. Like I said, a more seasoned player could probably answer this question a lot better.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing earlier. I really want to hear their reactions to Summerslam, especially with most of them having gone to the event but we won't get another Powerbombcast for another few weeks or whatever. Although, I guess we'll get some more wrestling content soon with whatever Alex/Dan/Jason filmed so that'll be cool.

Yep, the core game gets you everything except Mists and MoP is like $10 now. Any class is soloable, the content is generally easy enough that you'll be able to work alone as anything you want except mayyybe a healing build.

Good tip on the starter upgrade, I will try that out.

I am thinking Paladin so far.

Death Knights aren't accessible from the beginning right? Sounds like it might not be a good beginner class anyway.

All the classes are pretty much viable in terms of solo play - just make sure you pick the Damage role when picking your specialization at level 10. It ends up just being up to your preference really, do you like being up close and personal? Do you like using magic and being far away?

Do we have all Giantbomb Unarchived stuff already? That's sweet.

IF you guys are bored, I was messing around with a script that I made that would scrape information from Twitch pages (that wasn't very useful for you guys, because Giantbomb stuff wasn't properly named on Twitch) and I managed to do this:

All "Random Encounters", a show hosted by Danny O'Dwyre. His "Hatoful Boyfriend" series (I think there's 3 shows) is very well known.

There's only one quality available for most (if not all) of them, so they're an easy JDownloader grab-all job. There's only a couple with incomplete files, and most of them don't even have Danny in it (so I wouldn't even bother with those). I'm pretty sure this is the entire thing pasted into JDownloader2 Download List file for easy import - I had to run the page four times to gather all the links properly.

I don't think Gamespot uploads full Random Encounters to youtube (I can only see highlights) and I don't know if they archive them on the website (I don't really care about them). The entire set seems to be around 180gigs and, like I said, Danny isn't in all of them.

I also made this, which is all of the Gamespot videos on twitch. Watch out, that has files all the way from 2012. It's a long list (with thumbnails for easier recognition).

The only one I can think of that's of any value (imo) is the "Giant Bomb and Comic Vine are joining the CBSi Team!", but I'm sure that's been archived a million times on youtube already.

Sorry I couldn't help on the Giantbomb project - like I said about three times in this thread already, my Media HDD fried last month and I still didn't replace it, so I don't have any storage space to spare.

Giant Bomb is kind of weird for me lately.

I don't like MMOs. Ive tried and they're boring, I think what I see when I look at an MMO is what a lot of people see when they look at any game and think its pointless.

I also don't like wrestling.

But i do think dan is awesome. We need more demo derby!

So, I'm listening to the power Bombcast, and while I don't actually know anything about wrestling, I keep getting the impression that Jeff doesn't actually like wrestling.

Wrestling (WWE) was bad for the period that the Bombcast is referencing... he is justified in what he says. Wrestling is good again though - well it was good on Sunday anyway, I don't know about RAW.

Jeff loves wrestling. Jeff has just watched too much wrestling that he knows too much.

It's like Jeff and games.

Jeff is the Roger Ebert of video games. He has seen and played more games than most people can even think about. He knows a bad good game and a good bad game when he sees it which is why the stars he gives games are all over the place.

Which is why I trust him.

With wrestling, he's the Siskel of the equation. Dan is the Ebert. Or Alex is the Siskel. I'm not sure. Either way, Dan is the Ebert of this whole wrestling thing.

Edit: Alex and Jeff can be switched between Siskel and Roeper.

As for best leveling: every specialization that is damage oriented will have an easy time.
Tanks and healers are viable too but they can be slightly slower. I leveled as my protection warrior every expansion, and while other classes kill enemies faster, my character trades that with survivability since mobs deal noticeably less dmg to him.

Death Knights are 'heroic' class and they start at level 55. I think Blizzard dropped the requirement of having a character on that level for DK to be open, but i wouldn't reccommend new players to start as this class. Thjey start in the middle of the content and it can be really confusing.

EDIT: Wait, this is so far down the thread? Man, i really need to refresh quicker.

I think there are a good amount of people who watch wrestling on a semi consistent basis, that don't enjoy the majority of the product. Its the rare, fleeting amazing moments that keep them (myself included) in the loop. Jeff always seemed like that kind of fan to me.

I just spent $85 goddamn dollars for two bottles of that from the WhiskeyExchange. I expect to look like Dave Lang after on sip from that tonic wine.

madness. You paid a huge premium to import something that tramps and poors drink out of necessity. It would be like us paying $40 a bottle for malt liquor.
