Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

I wanted BG&E2 before Ubi made everything an open world, RPG, F2P mechanic ridden, enemy marking, tower climbing, collectathon mess so I'm going to wait for gameplay footage.

It's a bit like the FFVII remake where I'd be excited if the company hadn't been putting out lacklustre games over the last decade and if I had any faith that it would be released within the next one.

Wipeout Omega came out at the perfect time. I'm getting so many races done while listening to E3 coverage.

I remember a few years ago I had to slum it and use LBP Karting as my E3 game for want of better alternatives. At least it was free.

At least when I think back to Assassin's Creed games, I see a guy in a hood climbing buildings and running on rooftops in a city setting. They didn't show much of that with this new Assassin's Creed.

I think its because they are going after the Black Flag vibe which also more "outdoorsey" with village settlements vs the more urban style the series typically goes for.

I love him

he is good, pure, and a friend

I've been on a Strategy game kick lately and I just realized that I never really played any of the Total War games...

Which one is considered the best?

Yves Guillemot just confirmed Beyond Good & Evil 2 gameplay is at E3 but behind closed doors.

e: To clarify

Some info from Guillemot on the Youtube show:

  • Collaborative with fans and people who can have an impact (something very important for Ancel)
  • It's not funding by fans, it's creative collaboration with fans and reiterate based on feedback and suggestions
  • 3 years working on a new engine
  • Closed doors display of a in-engine gameplay segment at this E3

Ubisoft was incredibly confident up there. They've been doing the "fund Rayman games and small stuff with Assassin's Creed and Just Dance" model for a while but this feels like they've really hit a stride they were always struggling with. Regardless of my personal feelings about AC you could tell they think everything they're making is going to be awesome. That's not true for any other conference so far

Yeah it was definitely confident

Caught up on both Ubi and Bethesda now.

I keep meaning to actually play Wolfenstein; it's even been installed on my PS4 for... long enough that I can't remember. Guess I really should soon.
But Doom first.

Ubi's was ok but I will probably not play anything shown anytime soon besides, uh, Rabbids, honestly.

Also Beyond Good & Evil 2 is uh... like... ok, I never played the original, only saw my brother play parts, but: is... anything about this what the people who have waited so long for the sequel actually wanted...? Given the somewhat emotional way it was presented I don't want to be cynical, but it sorta felt like they'd come up with this cool idea for a game and then slapped that name/setting/whatever on it? Rather it feels like it should have a subtitle instead of a 2 next to its name.

I can only speak for myself, but no. Then again, any CG only trailer is auto bullshit in my eyes and I already start out with a negative opinion of the game. But the conversation between the pig and monkey was atrocious, the character art is boring, and it's a prequel to an unfinished story.
