Some people like it some dislike it. You'll get a more nuanced answer on if the game is for you from reviews and videos. I don't recommend basing your console purchase decision off people's comments about viewing someone play a game. Watching others play it != playing the game.

This is very true. I admit my impressions of it from seeing them play were largely negative, but It was obvious from the stream that I need to feel for myself how the gunplay actually feel and find out what the shooting actually feels like by playing it.

If it feels good I can forgive a lot of bullshit as Destiny proved for me!

Playing Halo 5 drove me to reinstall Destiny and appreciate it much more than I ever did before. Halo gets some things right but the gunplay is probably near the bottom of that list for me.

I don't know about Dan but Jeff and Brad have to review games, Fallout 4/BLOPS 3 & Rise of the Tomb Raider.

What? The whole premise behind Extra Life is that it is a 24 hour endurance stream, and Drew and Alexis are the ones that started Giant Bomb's involvement way back in 2012, this is tradition for them and they pry wouldn't do it any other way.

The only reason the other guys were doing shorter streams than the traditional 24 hours is because of the number of staff wanting to stream this weekend combined with all the work they have to do with big games coming out.

I think you have it backwards; Jeff, Dan and Brad wanted smaller slots to do their work with regards to all the big releases this time of year.

What are people talking about when they say the chat is hideous and whatnot? There are occasional bad or dopey comments, but I've not seen anything actually horrible, I think. And the cooldown is generally a good idea as it discourages spammy garbage type stuff. It's probably worse on free streams, but the quality of comments is still at least 6326584.82 times better than any other stream chat I've ever seen.

The new gondola music seems not as good, the conveyor level has less stuff in it, the train level is now bad, and the voices bring forth memories of Minions.

Some of the new levels seem alright though.

I had fun in chat during Halo just ad-libbing sci-fi nonsense from all these games using the same tropes like Halo, Mass Effect, AssCreed and whatnot. It's not THAT bad. 60 seconds cooldown is a decent sweet spot too but any more than that just kills chat for me.
