Giant Bomb GoTY 2016- Agent 47, take out that Doom Marine

Brandon F

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Yes, Mario Maker has led to some great site content. MGSV led to one of the worsts series on the site putting a stinker of an ending on a previously great feature.

What's this all about? Something go sideways with the Drew endurance plays of MGS? Not a premium subbed so I never watched those.

My favorite moments from Day 2.

It was abit dull compared to the others but that's more the game's fault rather than them. As for me I enjoyed watching them play MGSV but the other playthroughs were much more engaging.

Nah nothing went wrong. Just people's expectations and love of overreaction and hyperbole.

The background music the plays at 1:16:00 in the gamespot tape, does Jeff has the rights to it? Because if yes, he should use it at Giant Bomb.

seriously, MGR should've been the final Metal Gear Scanlon feature. So much fun and also fun to watch because of how ridiculous it gets. Now that Dan left, we'll probably never see it. Skype shit ain't the same.

They already messed up the series imo by not doing a co-op Peace Walker run, that game is soo damn fun with two people, what kind of hi-jinks would they have got up to in that.

I swear when Inside was coming out Jeff was so hype about it, but now he was super down. Maybe I am misremembering.

Also Doom as one of the best looking games of the year was a bit odd to me.
I felt it played really well, but the look of it wasn't exactly memorable.

I don't believe he was hyped for INSIDE but he was definitely down on it. I think the hype came from what Brad said about it before he played it on Bombcast.

That was the best moment. Sheik bashing through the door and burying that ax in that dudes head in front of the unsuspecting crowd and then vanishing as fast as he appeared.

I also was cracking up at how hard Vinny was sticking to the bit of the whole video while brad fell out about 15 seconds.

I've only listened to Day 1 so far. On the "Best Style" segment, all I wanted to hear is somebody praise DOOM for the credits sequence ... and no one did! C'mon, guys!

I'm not the right guy to be handing out style awards - hell, I didn't even notice the shotgun cock lining up with the music that they're so in love with, until it was pointed out to me - but damn, those credits held me like no other game this side of Portal.

DOOM looks glorious at 100+FPS, everything on ultra, UI off apart from the weapons and FOV set to 120. Especially the hell levels which look great even standing still. Would definitely have it in my top 5 best looking games this year.

Still without luck
Dude! How on earth are they confused about whether Ratchet is a remaster. They of all people should know the difference, jfc.

Best Surprise is the easiest slam-dunk of the year
No review copies, no one really wanted a new Doom without Carmack, the TERRIBLE multiplayer beta- Doom should have been shit, but instead it's one of the best games of the year.

He did railroad Mario Maker. He went there to place Mario Maker at the top and that's what he did. No matter what.

I mean, it doesn't bother me but he forced Mario Maker as number one and what others wanted didn't matter at all.

He really didn't though. If enough of the others had stood behind MGS or Rocket League and made persuasive arguments for them then I'm sure either of those would have won. Instead you had Alex and Austin eventually backing up Jeff, which is what decided it.

Doom should win goty in my opinion, but I have noticed Jeff pointing out the things he disliked about it a bit more than usual, maybe in preparation to push Titanfall 2 at the last minute.

Real talk, I've had more fun with Titanfall 2 than I did with Doom, so I'd be okay with this.

Yea, watch them use that against uncharted 4 while gears 4 gets in unopposed when that series was stale halfway through the first game.

Nah, Jeff seemed pretty down on Gears 4 after he finished it.

The PC version sure the hell is.

Did the PC version get different enviornments than the PS4 version? Because the ones in the PS4 version look hella generic and repetitive.

They mentioned it, maybe even twice. Listen to Day 2.

Remaster list is lacking way too many titles that came out this year. They didn't even include CoD: MWR in there and it was pretty amazing.

God, Bishock 1 Remastered was such a mess when it came out on PC.

Mouse acceleration going nuts, video configuration (including fullscreen) not being saved after quitting the game, textures missing from certain environments, audio bugs just like in the original...

No Dragons Dogma on the remaster nomination list? come on Jason

If I recall correctly the person who had the greatest opinion of Dragons Dogma was Austin and he's not there anymore.

I love the game personally I just wish the remaster had come out on PS4 as well.

Brad, how could you defend Skyrim with its shitty bugs and happily remove Ultimate Alliance for being a mess?

super Mario maker defined GB in 2015. I still play that game every other week and the quality of levels continues to get better and better. It's truly one of the greatest games ever made, and I am totally with Jeff on that one

Gravity Rush getting props got me super excited and then really disappointed it was just as quickly dismissed by pretty much everyone. It's a great game guys! Give it even half a chance!

At this point Bethesda could ship a game that formats your hard drive and posts all your passwords on 4chan and Brad would say "Well I've been meaning to clear some space and update all those anyway"

I see Valve is pretending Brad Muir is alive and not swallowed by the giant selfaware AI up north.
