Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
I dunno why, but I feel bad for Jason in these deliberations. He just seems like the low guy on the totem pole and nobody values his opinion.

I really want him to be an active participant. You can almost sense that he is aware his views and opinions will hold no weight among the crew so he just lets things unfold almost silently. A real bummer.

Jeff, Alex, Vinny, and Brad are really the only members playing a significant role in these discussions. Dan and Drew speak up now and again but in somewhat defeatist mode only to bring attention to games without a real argument or desire to plant a flag.

I shook my head at Austin now and again(Fallout 4 FFS) but at least there was passion in his words. Patrick usually was pretty good too. Ryan was always fantastic about leading these debates and keeping them grounded, ensuring the entire room was heard. Brad hosts these things and could really improve there.

The environmental puzzle reveal in the Witness would have to be the lamest choice for best moment or sequence.

Unlike Dan, I saw the first environmental puzzle the first five minutes of the game where you see the circle leading to the line on the wall facing the water. How could you miss this?! It sticks out like a sore thumb. I followed the path with my on-screen cursor and it sparkled--I shrugged and figured there was more to it I would figure out later as the game progresses.

Who was actually surprised by finding that and then harps on it like it's a watershed moment in 2016 puzzle gaming? It was neat, but it's also the most Jonathan Blow a** thing I've seen. Definitely not the greatest moment or sequence of the whole year. Not by a long shot.

It's super interesting to see the difference in level between Alex and most everyone else on instruments. Alex is still pretty awesome to watch play drums.

It's all about the "ah ha" moment of figuring something out that also makes you feel smart on a completely different level. I guess it depends on if you feel that solving hard puzzles are their own reward or if you need some other sort of reward for completing something.

For me it was a pretty profound moment. Good on you for your superior intellect, but the cool thing about that moment is that it's different for everyone.

Did you watch his Extra Life stream? He drummed for 12 hours and only got better as he went along.

Jason likes a lot of games outside the typical norm for the rest of the staff. Just look at his top 10 list, for example. The games he would really want to fight for are games only he would want to fight for, so they don't last long in discussions, and the other games that the other duders like get enough love so he doesn't really have anything to add there.

Last minute predikzzz:

1. Doom
2. Overwatch
3. The Witness
4. Hitman
5. Titanfall 2
6. Superhot
7. Inside
8. Rez Infinite
9. Stardew Valley
10. Thumper or something

I'm going to have to avoid this thread and Twitter for a while, I won't be able to listen to deliberations until tonight.

I'm dying from all these reaction shots. So subtle. This is why the video versions are so damn good.

Yup this is why it's the best moment. Every other moment they discussed is specifically designed to be experienced by players at the exact same moment in the game.

In The Witness, you can experience it at minute 1, minute 10000, or not at all. That's pretty unique in gaming and deserves to be rewarded.

I'm pretty sure everyone but Dan has done their fair share of coding. Jeff tho...he's seen some shit.

Jeff and brad should take after the rest of the crew and keep their mouths shut unless they have something valuable to add to the discussion. Though that would mean they'd never speak.

There is no way Superhot doesn't make top 5.

Actually, there is a way, but that way involves Titanfall 2 making top 3, and that is truly the darkest timeline.
