Haha. This is something TitR helped me realize, yeah. At least when it comes to Soul Calibur. I've had just enough prolonged sessions with the series over the years to develop a slight nostalgia for it, but few enough that only the characters (basically Ivy and Siegfried/Nightmare), setting, and weapon focus distinguished it at all from all the other fighting games I've played here and there over the course of my life.
