Kids these days dont know about my buddy icons and passive aggressive away messages

though the main character in Emily Is Away seems to have his shit way more together than I did

Got yelled at by girl for not responding to her guy issues quicker because I was talking to another girl on AIM about her guy problems then the first girl rage signed off

10/10 much better realistic high school experience than Persona.

Does this one have kinda creepy redpillish undertones like the last one had?

First 5 hours of Horizon are really, really good.

Finished it last week. Story is pretty strong throughout honestly.

I'm scratching my head wondering what it would take for me to give a solitary fuck about Scorpio/Xbox in general and I'm coming up blank. Although this kind of applies across the board to consoles right now so might just be me

It seems like the raison d'etre for the Scorpio is that they want to change the conversation surrounding PS4 multiplats looking and running better than Xbox One multiplats.

Whether that strategy actually meaningfully helps out remains to be seen.

So close.

What was in the first one like that?

Where did you get that from the first one?

This explains it decently, but basically there's a sexual encounter in that game that's handled really dubiously IMO. Overall I was bothered by the way the game is so reliant on co-opting your nostalgia to draw you into its world, and ostensibly offers you choices to mold the story towards your own experiences, but then also forces you to do some really skeevy stuff that I would not have chosen if there had been any other options. There's this implicit feeling of "this is how it played out IRL for you too, right?", which, no, it didn't, because I'm not a desperate asshole who secretly wants to fuck my female friends.

What do you think the crew's reactions to the conferences will be?

I'm thinking Jeff/Brad will dig Microsoft because they'll bring out their dudes to talk about how Scorpio represents their vision for the future of games or whatever, and Jeff/Brad eat that shit up.

Alex/Dan will get hyped for Nintendo probably

Ben will touch his face and be all creepy and stuff

For Sony they'll probably be meh overall since no one seems to have a huge affinity for Sony's properties as a whole. They'll dig God of War. Meh on Days Gone and Spiderman. Detroit's up in the air. Most will like TLoU2. Then we'll see whatever random announcements happen

Jeff and Brad will get on their chairs and yell 'oh my god' when the Thrasher kickstarter gets revealed

Vinny will yell 'NO! YOU CAN'T DO THIS' and run in circles when they tease the Castlevania:Symphony of the Night 3D remake

Dan will squirm and scream in excitement when they say that Mario Party 11 gets released this year after being delayed for nearly 10 years

Days gone will def get the meh reaction, but I could see them being interested in a lot of what might be there.

I agree they'll dig God of War, they all seem pretty impressed by that demo last year. Spiderman could get some love if it has a big presence, just because I have a lot of confidence that Insomniac can make a dope Spiderman game.

If Sucker Punch shows whatever they're working on I think they'll be pretty hyped for that.

Death Stranding could get them going too

Jeff will probably hate the format tho, as I assume it will be 6 trailers followed by twenty minutes of Destiny/COD talk, followed by 6 more trailers

I heard that Nintendo reps will actually cut to the Giant Bomb feed during the Direct and Reggie will show up with Switches and Mario Party 11 and force them to play 50 turns

So I am going through and watching all of Giant Bomb's E3 stuff in prep for the show next month, and god damn do I miss the chaos of the murder house. Just people walking into the house, joining the podcast (#jointheconversation), and then peaceing out to the back. Everything feels a little too stuffy, and dare I say, corporate, the last couple of years. I mean, I understand that it's hard to get Phil Harrison and the like to the murder house, but there was something magical about that damn place.

One of my E3 dreams is actually to have Reggie on the couch. I wanna see what it's like when he turns off the sales pitch (or honestly have anyone from Nintendo on)
Is there anyone who isn't meh on days gone?
The whole zombie horde acting like rushing water is pretty cool effect. But yeah nothing really seemed standout to me about it

Could be said about Giant Bomb as a whole.

It seems like a zombie game where the zombies are actually dangerous and not set dressing like other like games. The only other game like that is Left 4 Dead, and that's because the AI will keep throwing zombies at you. Even Dying Light doesn't match up to it because only the special infected are a real threat.

So it might not have anything special, but it can end up being one of the best ones of those type of games.

But then they used a house which was used to film porn.

That was definitely what they were going for with the E3 demo but then I read it's an open world action adventure survival horror and I become skeptical how much that E3 set piece reflects moment to moment gameplay.

So I just finished hyper-niche Wii game Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, and that is truly the most B of B-games.

It's basically anime Silent Hill.

Is there anyone who isn't meh on days gone?

I have no idea why people were so excited to see "Bend's game" in the first place. Mediocre developer.

Right. That's what I'm worried about.

In Dying Light, for example, you can run into Raises(Raizs?) thugs, and they can be attacked by zombies, but these usually end up being stupid fights where you wait 30 minutes for either a zombie or a thug to die. Zombies aren't really a threat.

If they can weave zombie hordes into it well, along with trying to survive from enemy factions, it can create compelling gameplay. IE bait a zombie horde into an enemy base, then while they're being overrun go steal shit or something.

I dunno. It depends on if they can nail the gameplay of it? The concept is fine, but what it needs is for the gameplay to shine.

Yeah the zombie water wave in close quarter combat idea is fine and could be interesting if executed well but then I read there's stealth and vehicles and crafting and yeah you worry.

I like that stuff, as long as real stakes. Like...MInecraft is a good example of this? Atleast it was in the beginning. If you weren't careful, your shit would get blown up.

In most survival games these days, there just isn't any stakes in it. Things can be exploited and you can ignore the majority of mechanics.

who needs any other zombie gaem when state of decay2 is coming

I tried going back to SoD, and my god that game aged horribly. It's borderline unplayable.

I really love Fragile. The wii has so many great, overlooked games :(

I've been going through my Wii backlog because there aren't really any single-player games coming out in the next few months. So far I've finished The Last Story and Fragile Dreams, but I've also bailed on Shiren the Wanderer and Pandora's Tower. Shiren because it's pretty boring and PT because it plays like absolute shit.
