I saw Blade Runner for the first time last week and was pretty bored by it, outside of the visuals. I'm sure it was way cooler when it originally released but I just think I've seen a lot of the concepts handled better or in more interesting ways before. I will accept that I'm just late to the game. Watched final cut.

2049 is fucking incredible though.

Roy Batty helping Deckard understand what it means to be "human" is the highest achievement of the movie outside of the visuals. I don't blame anyone who has nitpicks with it though, it's my favorite movie but it's not a perfect film. I think 2049 explores those themes even more effectively.
