Giant Bomb Thread 2: A thread on a popular internet message board

Missed the SNES stuff live yesterday and watching it now. Hilarious so far, Vinny is ace as always.

Edit: Is the contempt for Yoshi exclusive to Giant Bomb or is that a broader opinion I was never aware of? I never had a problem with him, maybe it's because Super Mario World was my first Mario game I played extensively.

Watching the premium stream since I missed it, Wordtris is kinda terrifying. Something about the poorly digitized images with the music is making me super uncomfortable.

Holy crap!

I had to stop watching TNT last night right before they started Tetris Battle, and that game looks freaking incredible. The turn arounds in that game... Man, I can't believe some of those comebacks. I think Brad had the best comeback in the entire TNT, but everyone did some great stuff.

I wonder how many copies of Tetris Battle Gaiden they sold this time, haha. I remember the online prices rose the last time they did it.

So... when is the next Dwarf Fortress vid coming? I thought it was supposed to be up last Friday but it wasn't, and it still isn't up today...

Last week during the flight club in chat Dave said a dwarf fortress would be live the next friday, aka today. It doesn't look like it's happening though.

Hope we get a last minute Dwarf Fortress stream tonight. Doesn't look likely though :(

I was even a little peeved that there was no premium feature yesterday, but then remembered there was the SNES play Thursday. I'm guessing they started to realize (for some reason we don't know) that they wouldn't have time on Friday to do a feature, as they probably all had something else going on, so they just did it on Thursday before TNT instead.

Just wish they were more forthcoming and transparent about this stuff, though. Just a "hey, no time on Friday, so we're doing this thing now" would suffice.

The upcoming dialogue box does that. If its not on the main page, then they have nothing scheduled up.

Not really. Sometimes they add stuff to that upcoming box at the last minute. In fact, for a Friday feature, they often add something at the last minute. I don't know why anyone would have presumed on Friday morning that there wasn't going to be a Friday feature.

I just got around to watching the SNES stuff from Thursday. I love the retro streams, and would keep paying just to see these a few times a year.

To be fair, I've only visited their site a few times, but as someone who works with graphic designers and people who lay out pages every day their design is a mess. It's like someone threw up stories on their front page. They've got the Windows 8 metro thing going, but the same type and font you'd see in print. It's like looking a jumbled mess of small windowed penis enhancements ads all cobbled together on a front page.

Like I said in a few previous posts before it isn't perfect, but I definitely think this sort of page6 design is where the industry is heading. TheDailyBeast, shares similar features. Only time will tell if The Verge will make the changes necessary to make it easier on the reader.

I think you should stop reading and posting for a short while. Get out and experience the world, because if the Verge is coming off as fresh and new you're missing a whole lot. And by 'lot' I mean... well, most things. The social worth of posting on message boards is a lower gain than anything Giant Bomb has ever done. Apply that energy to a greater purpose, like browsing a few websites with a decent layout.

You do realize that you just declared that I should go out and "experience the world" simply because I felt the design on your favorite website feels more or less mundane, right?

Seriously?

Must have hit a nerve with HivemindGaf...

Matt, feels he needs to state how wealthy his parents made him behind a shield of anonymity...

...And I say this as a well-off, private school educated, Westchester born and bread, D.C. tested, BMW-driving elite.

Riposte, seems to create alternate realities to fulfill personal hopes and dreams that one day he can become offended over anything he reads...

And now Aaron thinks I need do some inner soul searching...

the HivemindGaf....

...laughable.

Did you read GAF's FAQ before you started (shit)posting?

i'd quote the "hivemindgaf" posts but I'm too busy reading that second half as if you're stevie from malcom in the middle
I was in a pawn shop with a friend the other day, and an REM song came over the speakers. My friend asked who it was, I said REM, and the guy behind the counter said, "Yeah, I can always recognize the voice real easily, since they did the theme song for Malcolm in the Middle."

I was about to lay down some hot facts, but I figured it wasn't worth it.

This was a post brought to you by the word: Tangent.
