Giant Bomb Thread 2: A thread on a popular internet message board

I'm going to say you're in a significant minority here.

Not to mention I don't think it's just "Giant Bomb trying to be current" more so as it is Brad is legitimately excited about the game. Dude loves it, and wants to cover it. It's nice to see them enjoying video games once in a while when most of the time it seems like it's a slog through shit.

It's funny, I didn't give a shit about Diablo III before I watched the Day 1 & 2 videos of Brad playing it. His enthusiasm over it is really awesome.. It's cool to see someone genuinely excited to be playing a game they love.

That's not to say I'll ever buy it, but it's fun to watch. (For me, at least.)

I think people forget that PA is still just two guys with no background in journalism, and no aspirations to be unbiased. I think what you see is their unvarnished opinions. It's something like picking two random people from these boards and making them super famous and super influential in the gaming world.

Just be happy they aren't super into the CONSOLE WARZ.

I actually think for the most part they have pretty good (i.e. based in logic and reason) opinions. It's just the bad ones are just magnified like crazy. And also they have a tendency to tug at any of their open wounds.

Fucking dickwolves.

I'd personally enjoy a Diablo 3 TNT but I get why people wouldn't be into it. Outside of Vinny's antics, it wouldn't likely have a lot of random hilarity coming from the game. I'd say that any cooperative gameplay with the crew, no matter the game, is more entertaining than watching any of them play competitive shooters against the community, though.

True.

A co-op TNT for Diablo should be fine, but don't make these daily updates a thing please. There's a certain innocence to it when Brad thoroughly inspects his low-level, garbage loot that will be replaced in a matter of minutes, but they can't do any more videos of that.

Yeah, It barely matters what game it is. Unless it's a hilarious mess of a game I watch for Giantbomb being Giantbomb. I think Max payne could be fun because of ass the madness that can happen in a MP game but the co-op game they play is much funnier.

I'd definitely prefer watching co-op. Anything community the community tends to totally shit up.

And I think having them do Hardcore characters could make for an interesting experience.

I am looking forward to the inevitable Borderlands 2 TNT. That'll be shenanigans aplenty, I'm sure.

I'm posting just for the sake of +1 here but I totally agree. The best TNTs have always been when they're playing against each other, it allows for more tension and banter. The ones vs. the community usually just feel like being at your friends house while he plays something single player and you watch.

It's kind of neat to have a GB community night on Thursday, but only a few people can ever get into the game. So it leads to community memeber playing against each other which is nice and then a set of people just trying to get on the show by either hammered the TNT game/server or sending stupid message/changing their username to get noticed

Co-op TNTs with the guys >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> playing with the community

Personally speaking, I've always felt that there was a disconnect between the content that they produce and the community aspects of the site. I don't use their forums, I rarely comment on their articles and videos, and I've definitely never done quests or tried to play with them during TNT. Outside of occasionally stumbling into the Wiki stuff when looking up games, I kind of avoid the user driven stuff altogether (and live call ins during video content are a drag).

On the other hand, I never miss an episode of the podcast and I love almost all of their video features and editorial content.

I like that idea. That would add some tension but they need to start at least a few hours into ACT I before there is any real risk of dying on normal mode.

D3 TNT won't happen simply because they don't have four good PCs in the office. Even the co-op with Vinny was while Vinny was home sick.

I think their Macs could probably run it on the lowest settings. They don't all need gaming rigs. We only need to see the feed from the good one.

Suddenly I'm picturing some kind of Diablo 3 cocktail cabinet like Warlords. Everyone has to play on the same screen and two of them are looking at it upside down....and trackballs.

Specs? You could just be running into lag...

I dont think its lag. also it was more of a snarky jab at alienware than the game itself. I've been looking around and it seems the game has a lot of problems with my particular machine.

It's the Alienware m11xR2

So who's playing? Brad is a given but Vinny's home ill and Ryan sort of made a point of not wanting to buy the game right now. Maybe he's doing it just for TNT though.

Holy crap, Jeff's turned around on Playstation All Stars (not that he was ever really negative) and is joining in the chorus of love for The Last of Us from yesterday. All of a sudden I'm really looking forward to Sony's E3 presser.

The tweets I'm referring to, for those who (rightfully) hate Twitter:

"Got to watch a quick demo of The Last of Us yesterday that looks outstanding. Definitely one of the coolest things I've seen in awhile."

"Also played a bit of PlayStation All-Stars and it seems really charming. The level 3 supers are what makes it. Hope the roster's good."

I think we already know Brad's GOTY 2012, he seems to really love the game.

Guys Brad wants ideas how to run diablo 3 TNT, so tweet your ideas to him.

TNT. Diablo 3. How would you run it? What's your ideal format?

I'd love them to try to get as far as they can on hardcore from the start (with new heros obviously). I think it could lead to some great holy shit moments. Normal mode could become a bit boring.

Has anyone besides Vinny and Brad played the game yet? You need at least a level 10 dude before you can start Hardcore. It's an awesome idea for a lantern run type of thing, but probably not suitable for this TNT.

Unfortunately the GPU in the newest Air (the one we have) actually got worse than the model they're using in that video.

That's disappointing. Does that mean coop with the community or do you guys have other options?

Drew's a big fan as well apparently but TNT isn't going to run itself.
