Giant Bomb Thread #4: A thread of perceived slights

Jeff would marry Carrie but he'd have to get rid of his TurboGrafx collection to make room for her and that's just not happening

What did Phil say/do?

He just gave his thoughts on things like the oculus rift and came off as a guy who was devoted to game design, he came off as a pretty cool guy. I think it helped define how he only came off like a dick when he was dealing with stress/put on the defensive relating to a thing he devoted several years of his life to most people would.

I couldn't disagree with Carrie more but whatever Videogames!

Unfortunate that we only got Carrie to express her experience of women in the industry. From her definition of "real" sexism I'm wondering how many issues are "real" to her. She did say it was dependent on the person, but I think failing to recognize the issue as an important thing, and more of an "opinions man!" issue is a problem.

CreepyGaf I missed you!
I didn't. Never.
yall dudes take this thread too serious
I don't understand people that hate him so much.

Is it because of that one Skyrim thing because...man. That's a terrible reason to hate someone.

People on Gaf like to put Nier up on a pedestal that it REALLY doesn't deserve like it's the greatest game on the planet. Justin gave it a zero because he couldn't fish. I don't agree with either side, but that's a big reason why.

Maybe they're in the minority or simply don't care (indifference isn't exclusive to either gender), but I find it interesting the disparity in their opinion as women in the actual games industry vs. women who write about the games industry.

Unfortunate that we only got Carrie to express her experience of women in the industry which she felt was fine. Though from her definition of "real" sexism I'm wondering how many issues are "real" to her. She did say it was dependent on the person, but I think failing to recognize the issue as an important thing, and more of an "opinions man!" is a problem.

I certainly think the site would benefit from having other female commentators address the issues on podcasts/live shows. In the first segment I feel like Paul detracted from the topic because he said that Carrie was a woman and didn't see these problems at all as though that resolved the issue. They should seek out women who've actually felt like they've been affected by sexism in the industry and the fans and expose their stances on their more popular formats rather than in text articles.

I say this as someone who loves them having Carrie and Paul on their casts.
