That's old news.
Looking forward to seeing how it was, since I ended up missing it all today.
The Giantbomb duders are at their worst when they are forcing themselves to do stuff they don't care about, I don't see how a weekly show about new releases can work. The Naruto and whatever anime game were awful segments. They had to beat the Naruto joke to the ground to get anything out of it.

It was probably CBSi that forced Giantbomb to work with the Gamespot dudes on the Wednesday show to get more views.

I was okay with adding Gamespot dudes at first, because that means that they can probably find someone who knows what they're talking about to play the games. And then baseball and Naruto happened.

Was tired last night so didn't watch much. Gamespot isn't included in my videogame bookmarks so their presence added nothing to me. I would prefer to keep the two "brands" separate.
As for the show, well it is early days. But I'm not sure what it is intending to do. Showing 5 minutes of a random new release title with no structure helps no one. Viewers are unable to decide whether or not the game is worth a punt.
Also was Sniper Elite:Nazi Zombie Army on it? Came out last week on Steam and the guys should take a look at it on the site. It is a pretty good niche title which needs more exposure. An ideal title for this type of show (imo).

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not since Seth works at Sony Santa Monica so the fact that he was still there after Superbot was kinda obvious.
I didn't enjoy this Wednesday's show on account of the fact that the act of jumping from one game to the next every five minutes is antithetical to GB style of spending 15 - 30 minutes focusing on just one game. I would much rather have a long quick look videos of each game showcased, however unprepared, over just saying a few words on each game. If this is not meant to be a replacement over quick looks then I don't understand the redundant nature of this show.
If this show is byproduct of some CBSi mandate that has resulted in GB and gamespot coming up with this show then they ought to be doing something more interesting than this current endeavor. Here is an idea for a plausibly fun show: each Wednesday GB and gamespot crew get together and play a few games that are either spiritual and/or direct prequels to games being released during current week. Juxtaposition old and new games and talk about transformation of characters, gameplay, or just reminisce. Thematically this is much more interesting than the setup of this current Wednesday show and will also facilitate it in acquiring a much needed focus.

Just hit the Castlevania 3DS portion, I thought this was meant to be classic linear progression Castlevania because is sure looks like a MetroidVania with the segmented map. I miss sprites already.
One criticism would be the length, I'd be fine cutting it down to 1 hour, 2 hours is a lot to sit through. I will also a new 1 hour segment titled "Giant Bomb's Anime Game Power Tower Hour" where all they do is play otaku games.

I really enjoyed that.
When I first loaded up the stream late I was disappointed to discover that it appeared to be Gamespot + Jeff talking about Sim City 4, but it soon won me over after that. I'd probably prefer it just be Giant Bomb with the odd guest, but this is cool too.
GAF takes a very hard stance on transsexual prejudice/dismissal.
Yeah having the Gamespot guys feels a bit forced and the main Gamespot dude (not the head of) (I really never followed Gamespot)(Ah, it's Chris Watters) should act a bit more casual and it'll be all good. The main thrive of this show is seeing games nobody really thought about and nobody even cares about. Gives some good laughs. Chris loosens up halfway through.

It was also nice to get some fresh viewpoints. Giant Bomb can be something of a cacophonous echo chamber at times, so it was nice, for instance, when Carolyn's opinion of Tomb Raider and its story differed from the one we've been hearing Brad and Patrick repeat ad nauseum.

I don't care to play any Naruto, Atelier, or sports games myself, but mashing buttons, actively ignoring instructions and just yelling through it can be a bit offputting. They clearly don't give two shits about these games, and it really shows. It can be entertaining, but I like some education (or a real interest in the game) with my nonsense!
When talking about games they actually played a decent amount of or care to talk about, like Tomb Raider, DmC dlc, Sim City, etc. it was interesting to see different opinions and conversations between GB and Gamespot.

It's an interesting point, I was going to make a joke that she sounded like Ryan Scott until I saw on the thread she was transgender, then I thought it'd be inappropriate, maybe that actually says far more about having a prejudice than not making the joke.
As for the show, I thought it was great, much better than TNT or Fridays.
Knowing that those games came out is probably the most information you'll learn from the shows.
Also that Kakashi is a guy with an eye patch and when he takes it off he sees Naruto.

I thought the show was pretty good. They'll relax into it after a few weeks and get everything working a little smoother, but the chaos was part of the charm for the inaugural episode.
Like other people said, Justin seemed a little reserved on camera, but I guess appearing in front of a 3000-strong new audience might have prompted him to be cautious about how he comes across? Or maybe he's like that all the time. Either way, wasn't really a problem, just didn't really get much from him.
