That looks like the normal amount of dust that settles on a thing after months of non-use.

This is excellent work that deserves recognition.

Met Tony and Vinny after the Comic Vine NYCC panel. Here we are checking out Vinny's videostand bazooka thingy. Norm was there too but he had to split after the panel.

Had a nice chat with both, an excellent start to the con : )

Listening to hte bombcast when Tomb Raider is released.

I really hate the double standard that Brad and Patrick argue about Lara in combat encounters. If it was a guy there would be no problem.

I think you mean Laura.

That's rubbish. Putting torture porn sequences in a game that was supposed to have a serious, realistic story is gross and unnecessary whether the main character is male or female. Put Nathan Drake in this picture and it's still just as off-putting.

Did you play the last few hours? Not sure they were ever aiming for realistic, does take itself very seriously though.

Duck Dynasty the Video game comes out next week.
Is there a minigame for saying gross bullshit? I'm imagining Parappa gameplay, but instead of dope beats and the illest verses, it's just being a douche.
I'm so proud of my mobile keyboard, it auto suggested douche to end that sentence.

I wonder, what made Dan leave Game Informer for Giant Bomb? Was it that he has more freedom and Giant Bomb?

He has way more freedom at GB to do video stuff. GI is still mainly a magazine and their video features have never been the focus. He always seemed to enjoy doing Replays (QLs) and Super Replays (ERs) the most, and was the main guy for that stuff at GI. So him going to a place that more or less just focusses on video and some written reviews makes a lot of sense.

Good theory, but it's because he knows there's more places to buy anime in California.

Quick Look made me buy Vib Ribbon. This game is awesome. Now I want a new one that lets you use your personal digital music collection. :(

Finally got my signed GB poster framed and hung. I wonder if they'll ever do another one, I imagine not after how nighmarish it seemed for Rorie.

Personally didn't play past the first couple of hours myself, mostly due to the game being a real drag and pretty poor, but at least in part becuase I was skeezed out over the fact that somebody at CD was getting off killing Lara in more and more grotesque ways.

I ended up playing on PC earlier in the year. I don't know why it was different, but I was able to avoid most of the grosser deaths. That part about making me feel protective was true. Only I was protecting myself from the torture porn.

Ended up being a pretty good game, though.

I asked in the gaming podcast thread and got no answers so I'll just ask here; is Danny O'Dwyer a regular on any podcasts?

Also, I've been sitting here for five minutes staring at that question and it's bugging me. Is the semicolon appropriate? I've always been terrible with semicolons.

Violent deaths when a player makes a mistake in a game which is meant to revolve around Lara trying to survive in an impossibly hard climate is a nifty use of game mechanics to tell a narrative. It's fine to be sensitive to the brutality of characters dying horribly but instantly putting them off as something sexual is a stretch.

To be honest the death scenes were the only part of the game that hit the theme for me. Of course that was kinda ruined by Lara constantly suffering crippling/potentially fatal injuries in QTEs and forgetting about them 10 minutes later.

A regular colon would have been more appropriate. I don't know the answer to your question, though. :p

He's a regular on Alt-F1. It would help if you have an interest in racing, but I never watched a race before I started listening.

Also, I would have gone with a colon.

Moving to Giantbomb was probably a smart career move. I mean how much longer does game informer really have in them? Not saying they're not viable and sustainable now, but eventually their magazine business will go under and I don't know if their website will be enough to keep them afloat. Look at what happened to G4 and their website, once the main source of revenue collapsed the website pretty much buckled.

Use a colon. Semi-colons are used to connect two sentences together.

Even if you don't have an interest in racing the Alt+F1 podcasts are short (relative to the bombcast) and over time they've gotten much looser in regards to how on topic they are.
