Giant Bombcast - 03/17/15

1up nuked all the podcasts... I really wish someone just uploaded them to archive.org or something.

As with the old Gamespot content, it's kind of sad that it can just disappear entirely like that.

Edit: someone put it up on Archive.org: https://ia601504.us.archive.org/24/items/1UPpodcasts2008/07:16:08.mp3

Man, Shane and Shawn. It's like a time warp.

They're back. IGN has been contracting me to fix the 1up issues that resulted from the server move. It's taken a while as I only have time on nights and weekends. Also the apache rewrite rules on 1up were an unholy mess.

1up should be working now and to the best of my knowledge the podcasts are back and working.

Who else besides persona does teens save the world well. There are games that are good and have that trope, but who else makes that trope work for them?

A) It's been a while since JRPGs have been in the spotlight so it feels fresher than circa 2006.

B) Not enough are putting money where their mouths are for that you're looking for.

C) Not enough are putting money where their mouths are when it ain't teens saving the world in JRPGs.

It's one of those things.

Oh wow, thanks for the headsup, thummp!
Looks like you have to find it via search, but maybe I'm wrong. Either way-

edit: Nevermind. : ( The site's back up, but links are down.

Means I gotta get in there and fix those links. Feel free to PM me if you find other broken stuff. Podcasts were never really under development control from the very beginning. So there is a lot I don't know about how they're...ahem....organized.

Like the old days, it's a small budget. I have to rely on community involvement for QA.

I'll try to take a look at the links tonight.

Well, at least someone at IGN sees the value of keeping them around. I imagine they're basically losing money on the 1up archives at this point.
