Brad messes around with his Windows Phone 7 phone, Jeff waxes rhapsodic about BioShock Infinite, Vinny buries himself in Witcher backlog, Ryan goes to a parade, and everyone stresses hard on E3 in this week's Bombcast!

I'm sensing incoming Lobsta Monstas!

So Patcher is on a **second** bombcast this week?

Jesus Christ there is no gif that does a double bombcast justice
No

But does this one come close?

(I like to pretend I'm the little kid and Pachter is the ewok)

So I listened to a Bombcast from a year ago today because I've nothing better to do and now I'm listening to this one and wow.

The audio quality from the year-old Bombcast is a thousand times better. No echo, no background noise, no ventilation, no fans, just voice.

Well that's from their old office.

The new recording room leaves alot to be desired but they can't do much about it.

What Ryan doesn't get is that "Bad combat" doesn't mean "Being bad at the combat". No surprise though they still love the game because graphics and overall presentation(flash, style). Surprisingly Weekend Confirmed actually made fun of Assassin's Creed (2) in comparison. I have to imagine Ryan would rather have that combat system instead, where it basically plays itself and defense is a non-issue.

Holy fucking shit @ Jeff's Bioshock Infinite talk. This game sounds berserk. Point of fact, if you're already hyped for Infinite I might skip it, there's some shit in there that sounds mindblowing.

Tearing holes in space-time and seeing the 80's? wtf. I had to relisten to make sure I'd heard that right.

I don't know, man, I found the combat's pretty superficial and really really clumsy. The whole game is great in spite of not-so-great mechanics and interface.

Holy fuck, what!?

Amazing.

Fair enough. Hopefully they'll fix it up eventually.

Also, I find it hilarious that they talk about Modern Warfare 3 for less then 2 minutes considering how much they talked about Modern Warfare 2 only two years ago.

The 2nd chapter is a much bigger obstacle if you ask me. It's by far the longest and the slowest paced.

Personally I got bogged down in the 2nd and 3rd. "Go do 50 quests in that sewer, yes, that sewer you've been going to constantly for the past 20 hours".

Oh man, I remember Akuji. It was freaking garbage.

I also remember the magazine ad for it. It was a box filled with dead animal limbs, intestins and eyeballs. Nothing of that was in the game btw, it was just a publicity stunt to create some controversy.

To be fair, the game launches in six months and there's not much left to speculate with that giant Kotaku plot blowout.

Like Vinny, I'm also just starting up the first Witcher, and I'm really enjoying it so far. The first chapter WAS a little dull, but I'm really enjoying the second chapter (the
autopsy section was really clever and the characters are quickly growing on me
). The best parts of the game so far are easily its atmosphere and its tone. The mechanics seem pretty opaque, though. I'm almost positive that I've pissed away a few of my early talent points, but I don't feel like opening up a FAQ.

BioShock Infinite sounds pretty amazing, too. I wasn't paying much attention to preview coverage of it up until now, but I'm much more interested after listening.

The racing wheel contraption comment was pretty funny. I wonder how many plastic guitars, drums and dj thingies they have collecting dust in their closets.

Between the demo and Brad's impressions of Guerrilla, I'm really having a bad feeling about Armageddon. Just the fact that he enjoys Guerrilla so much, but it could easily be me jumping to conclusions.

How far are you? Once you learn to use lock on and manage crowd control with Quen, Yedrin, and bombs, the combat becomes way more interesting. Even using Axii to mind control guys is highly successful and effective. Usually those kinds of spells in most RPGs never work most of the time, but here it is a reliable strategy.

You have A LOT of strategic options for addressing groups in Witcher 2. It is just that running into gung ho with no buffs is not one of them. I will agree that the game does a crappy job of explaining things to you, though. It is old school in that regard.

Oh and Jeff, Igni (the fire spell) is probably the least effective spell in the game, at least until it is leveled up. The others are far better.
