During the whole thing? Mine has suddenly (last 3 years is relatively sudden, I guess) started hurting like hell the first 2-3 days and only at the end do I get the sex drive surge. Definitely spend that end time mentally prowling about, though.

My female friends look at me all weird when I say I don't mind having sex during my period! They think its so gross and totally out of the question.. XD A lot of them tell me how much they hate themselves during their period. I never felt that way, I don't really mind it but hated the cramps though I don't get them as bad now. It kinda is gross and it can be very messy plus you have to PREPARE for sex during your period but I don't mind it. Bless my guy he's more than happy to oblige.

I've never had any problems, and they've made my period pain disappear almost completely (I've been on them for years because of pain issues).
It might just be the type of pill you used, but have a chat to your doctor. The pill has worked great for me because I'm not really keen on putting things under my skin or anything, but there are a whole lot of options.

You lucky bastard! Mine used to be light and non-crampy. Now either the pill or age has made it way heavier and distractingly painful the first 2 days. Super short though. 4 days max usually.

Urgh! Don't remind me of my first time... I think my hymen was extremely thick or something, it just wouldn't budge the first time we tried. And when it did it hurt soo so SO fucking baaad. I couldn't have sex again for a month and then trying after that made it hurt just AS bad, this went on for at least 6 months.
