I cut six inches off my hair yesterday. It feels so nice and healthy now. Remind me never to go so long without cutting my hair.

There are more important characters to discuss now anyways.

I just want Poison to be in the game.

I could do without ever seeing Poison and the "jokes" that appear whenever she does again.

I just really like her as a character. At this point I expect those comments whenever her name pops up. That shouldn't keep her from being in the game though because there's a lot of ignorant and bigoted people out there.

Her fighting style looks interesting, but everything else about her seems awful. The red, her noodle hair, that insufferable laugh, etc.

She's supposed to be the stuck-up privileged superior-to-you-all type.

So while we're at it, Aeka > Ryoko. :p

Don't worry, SF-illiterate sisters, I know even less than y'all. For me, SF ladies are Chun-Li and Cammy and the others are all these newfangled "who?" weirdoes who need to get off my lawn. *nods*

Newfangled? But Alpha 3 was like almost 20 years ago...I remember playing it when it first came out in the university arcade. :(

Shush you!

Who the hell is Cammy? SF only has one female character.
There we go. :D

My brother actually one later SF for the PSX... the one with R. Mika actually. And... Charlie, maybe? So I remembered R. Mika vaguely for her ridiculous costumes with the hearts on the boobs and Charlie for being a Guile knock-off. But that's all I remember.

Mika debuted in the same game as Karin, SFA3. Charlie debuted in the original Alpha game 3 years prior in 95. I was still in high school at the time of that one.

I haven't played Street Fighter since, uh, Alpha 2, so the lack of Sakura love here makes me sad. I don't think a fighting game character has ever clicked for me like she did(that's really not saying much though, considering I don't play anything outside of SSB really).

The movie is a staple for "bad movie nights", though.

Actually she is my main for any game she is in! When I first played an Alpha cab and I saw that shoe hit Sakura's head I knew we were bonded for life.

I like fighting games, but I'm terrible at them.

Actually, I could say the same about any genre I play. lol

Yep, I always feel like I'm just a little behind any friends I try to play Smash Bros with(but I also play Samus pretty much always, which doesn't help in most of the games X_X), and I can't really play traditional fighters at all.

Never played Street Fighter. I strictly stay on the Marvel side in the Marvel vs. Capcom games. I only recognize like three names out of this whole discussion. D:

Even then, I never really had people to play fighting games with growing up, so I never really got any good. Except for Super Smash.

I enjoy fighting games but you need to practice so much to git gud, it's discouraging. I tend to buy like, one fighting game per generation of console and that's about it. xD I always preferred Darkstalkers over SF (no that is NOT why I picked my screen name though xD) I liked having vampires and heavy metal zombies and werewolves more than the SF cast. I got decent at Night Warriors, but I only played against my brother and the AI so IDK...

I liked Guilty Gear XX for its art and music, played it a bit with my boyfriend and against the AI but that's it. I never really got proficient either. I bought Blazblue on the PS3 and almost never touched it, too hard and daunting. :\

Hmm, Charlie seemed novel at the time but since I skipped SF Alpha and all those Super Turbo Championship Special EX editions well, I just didn't know him from before. All I remember is my brother bought some SF Alpha game for the PSX in a used bin and we played it a bit, I think it was Alpha 3, but I barely touched it. Don't remember Karin at all anyway.

I'm not great at most fighting games myself. I tend to be horrible at them, but the last one I've gotten into is Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. I really, really like it. It's a lot of fun to play, and best of all I don't suck at it.

I mained Sakura at times in certain games. Karin was actually introduced in SFA3 as her main rival, I wonder if we'll see any more stuff relating to that in SF5.

I used to love fighting games, was probably one of my fave genres. I only played Street Fighter a little, I loved early Mortal Kombats, then got into Virtua Fighter, then really got into Tekken and Soul Calibur. I don't play them half as much as I used to. I did really love Injustice though, I still stick that on now and again this days (nothing to do with the Stephen Amell Arrow skin, nope, not at all)

I don't play any real fighting games (just Smash), but I love watching some of them on EVO.

That said, I think the R. Mika thread is funny. My favorite part was when someone didn't even know what an areola is.

Tekken Tag Tournament was my jam back in the day. I played that so much lol.

Spamming kicks with Hwoarang over and over.

Never got into Smash Bros. D:

Now that I think about it, I played a lot of fighting games with my brother and cousins at the arcade and pizzeria.
I'm old.

Anyone else watching the rugby World Cup? I've watched a few games this weekend, caught England's and watching Wales right now. Wales are my team so I'm pretty tense and constantly leaping off the sofa.

I finally broke down posted the Parenting Gaf thread, the OT sucks, but hopefully I will get it in shape :p

I'm not a parent so I won't post there but I skimmed a bit. I also really didn't want to derail your thread. Honestly, I don't think there is anything wrong with not wanting a 12 year old to not view porn. My friends had this situation and the father's concern was that internet porn especially might skew his 12 (ish) yr old son's views on sex, women, and love. I'm not trying to be a prude but it is too easy online to find some crazy shit that is a lot different than the 80s porn I watched when I was a kid lol. I know gaf will feel differently but I think you were in the right with that one.

Our house was all girls, so when I had my first period I went to my mom (although she did tell everyone in my family :/ ). I doubt I'd be comfortable going to my dad. I wouldn't know what to say to a 12 year old boy. Uh...go to your uncle.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say, I am likely not going to be around anymore, but most of you know how to get a hold of me if you need me. Thanks for being a great community.

Understandable given recent stuff, but I don't like it, no sirree. Still hope you'll pop into ParentGAF from time to time. <3
