GirlGAF |OT 2| Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Eve?

If you're happy with him stay with him, no matter how dashing the neighbor is. Masturbate and then decide if you're still jealous.

If you are, well, how willing would your guy be for a MMF, or to have a period where both of you can bang outside the relationship?

I have a question in regards to that. Does it work the same way with women as it does with men? After nutting, your head is more "clear" and you can make more "reasonable" decisions when it comes to sex?

Well, obviously there's a difference between thinking when horny and thinking when satisfied. I'd assume that to be universal.

That would make sense. I remember reading that something goes off chemically in men that put them in a different state of mind 10-30 seconds after finishing. Would be interesting to read up upon that.

I would like GirlGaf's opinion.

Last week, a teenager killed herself after a long stretch of torment stemming from her flashing a webcam when she was 12. She posted a video on youtube about a month ago as a cry for help, and evidently, it wasn't there.

Mental health and bullying issues made political hay in Canada a year ago, when another teen, the only out kid in his high school, committed suicide after being tormented for years by bullies. This prompted many to tell tales of their own struggles with mental illness, including but not limited to the current interim Liberal leader (third party in Canada).

Here's my thing: the cause of this girl's sorrow is being widely reported as bullying - and indeed, she was tormented so - and the ensuing political conversation has centred on this angle. But what isn't being covered nearly so much is how a sexual predator targeted her, blackmailed her, and then distributed what is really child porn around the internet in order to humiliate and isolate her to the greatest degree.

So, my question to GirlGaf: Is it fair to latch on to bullying as the primary issue here? Will attempts to stifle bullying work without first addressing issues of victimization, sexism, homophobia, whathaveyou?

Discuss.

It's fair to latch onto bullying as a problem but you make a good case that certain forms of bullying are able to exist and are often encouraged because of sexism, homophobia, racist, etc. I have noticed the downplay of the fact that this wasn't just bullying (of the 12 yr old girl) but sexual predation, and that really bothers me.

That thread about certain Christians not supporting an anti-bullying day because it will "normalize homosexuality" really drives the point home.

Bolded : Yes. It was blackmail, but at the same time it was bullying in the meaning that she was EVERYDAY blackmailed and harassed.
He will go to jail (and probably worst) because of the other problems ... but the mix of those feelings and the daily basis of it bullying especialy well.

Underlined : Kids are evil. That is a fact. If they will not critisize you for acting hetero or whatever than they will critisize you for not having the latest pokemon or whatever =P
It is a problem of education of kids.

Suicide rate is now more than car accident fatalities in the US. A lot of them are veterans, not just bullied teens.

No one gives a fuck about mental health.

Mental health and economic inequality are highly correlated statistics, by the way. Mental incarceration rates are significantly higher in countries with a high GINI index.

A lot of people seem to think that there's no help out there, or just don't think it will help them. I don't know about in the US, but here there's certainly a huge thing about being stoic in the older generations. I don't even know how to reach out to them..

Think of it this way ducky: the median number of sexual partners in a lifetime in the US is 6. The median is much higher, as there are those crazy outliers with 100+ partners.

Woah, the average in Australia is 13. I wonder if that has anything to do with lower Christian (/conservative) numbers here, or something. Hmmm..

Everyone in the apartment I live in (house converted to apartment) came over yesterday for drinks and fun times. First time I've ever met the man who lives upstairs for any length of time. 5 girls and two guys (my boyfriend and the guy who lives upstairs.)

It was interesting to say the least. Everyone is single except for me and my SO. This guy is something else though. 6'5". Iraq war vet. Fun/funny. And rather, RATHER attractive. To top it off there have been maybe three occasions where he has had a girl over and we can hear her screams of ecstasy coming from upstairs. So they all found him very intriguing.

When I went to wake my friend/roommate up for coffee I saw him laying in bed next to her.

She's been admiring him from afar for a while now but they only just met last night. On one hand I think it's hilarious, on the other hand I think good for her because she hasn't gotten laid in a while after a bad breakup. On the other hand I feel like it's a risky decision that might lead to awkwardness. Also I can't help but feel a smidge of regret that I never had a wild period of time in my life. I've been with the same person since I was a freshman in high school. I'm in love, and I'm happy. Is it odd to be jealous though? Just a little bit? If for no other reason than that I've never gotten a chance to be bad...

Nah, I understand ducky. I reckon the pros of being in a relationship with someone you love far outweigh the pros of a one night stand though. If you don't want to have any regrets about missing out talk to your partner about it, chances are he feels the same way. If you feel comfortable, you could work out an agreement in an open/semi-open relationship or something.

I think you're confusing median with mean. Alternatively, Australian guys are simply hunkier than American ones and you just can't help yourselves.

Also, your entire country has a smaller population than my college town. Statistics can be pretty loopy when dealing with sample sizes that small!

I got a really nice Michael Kors tote today from the Goodwill store for 25 bucks but I can't find it online. I've narrowed it down to some kind of montauk tote but it has pockets on the side and the stripes are beige/orange. It's also some kind of nylon/canvas which is also beige. It's a MICHAEL Michael Kors bag with the gold plate and name printed on the inside but I really cannot find this bag for shit.

...why are you trying to find it online if you've already bought it for 25 bucks? Or do you suspect its legitimacy?

Am confused.

Salted caramel mocha is my new addiction. There, I said it.

Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is better. It might be that I had it going up the road to Big Bear at around 32 degrees F(a lot lower probably due to wind chill) with only mesh motorcycle gear on top of jeans and a t-shirt.

Still good riding, that day.

And Lee, anyone who knows their way around Simpson's reference is a plus in my book. I <3 the Simpsons thread on gaf.

What a fine time to be dairy-free and restricted on caffeine. :(

F it. I want a salted caramel mocha frappuccino, and then I want to go back for a salted caramel hot chocolate. I'm going to order them in soy (and decaf for the frap) and pretend there's no dairy in the chocolate.

It's a drink-my-calories kind of weekend.

Just curious about it is all. It seems to be legit but I've come across faux designer stuff that are pretty good ringers. I'd think it's even more cool if it's not legit and manages to look so authentic.

It's probably a few seasons old, which would explain why you can't find it on their website. Either way, I've found that designer bags from MK are usually in the same price window as Coach.

Hey, just wondering if there are any HaloGirls who would like a Halo 4 UNSC Eagle Shirt for their avatar B]

Just got one with my Halo 4 controller so if anyone wants it:

Closest I've come is like '09 Montauk collection. Either way feels good to get a well made expensive thing for way cheaper.

So, random question of the week: how do y'all feel about strip clubs? Before plans for a bachelor party in San Jose totally fell apart this weekend, me and a couple of friends - three male, two female, making for an even 50/50 split in total - were planning on driving up there to hit up a titty bar.

Now, one of these friends, who is normally super fun when drunk and somewhat reserved (read: Korean) when not, had reservations about the idea, which I could completely understand, though she had committed to come because bachelor parties are once in a lifetime events. (Not REALLY, but you know. It was sweet of her.) I had commented that I'd never been to one, and she thought this was funny, because I "talk tough" and come across as fearless when it comes to things like that. I told her it was because, though I lack experience, at heart I'm the polar opposite of a prude. Anyway...

So, I guess the whole idea of a strip club kinda ties into whatever your feelings are about other aspects of the sex industry - pornography, prostitution, etc. I've never really had a problem with the idea, actually, but I know many women are against it because it contributes to objectification or whatnot. So I'm curious as to how you guys feel about the subject - and that includes male friends of girlgaf, of course.

Been to a couple now. The first one I was taken to was probably the best. It was basically a bar first, strip club second. I don't really feel bad about going to them unless the girls look really down on themselves. It seems like the ones out here many of the women seem to genuinely enjoy it so I haven't felt a tinge of guilt. They make good money and look healthy. If that's what they want to do then fine. Also there are a couple male nude ones here that I haven't taken a gander at yet. I've been told the strip club culture in Portland is very different than elsewhere though and honestly it probably has to do with the amount of establishments. The more avenues there are, word gets around about ones that treat the strippers well and those flourish.

I can't imagine that most strip clubs are worth supporting, though perhaps I'm wrong. I don't have a problem with them conceptually, like prostitution.

Well I don't have a problem with strip clubs personally. We had about 8 of them around were I used to live basically all within the same distance and some double as a bar(probably the only good thing about my home town). The most i'll probably ever spend at one is about 50 bucks and thats if man/woman there are worth my time.

And I kinda definitely want to go to a (gay?) male strip club someday, for sure.
Make sure you go to one in vegas, the only ones I've ever been to outside of vegas sucked balls.

Stripping and porn are some of the few occupations where women make significantly more than their male counterparts...you would think more women would be in support of these especially when it is a full and conscious decision by her to be part of the industry. So much injustice in pay, don't hate on some of the few that are in your favor.

Never been to a strip club but I don't see the point in going to one. I don't drink, I'll get horny but I won't be able to do anything about it. I don't mind them as a thing that exists I just feel like I wouldn't have fun going to one.

That's a good point. In the age of internet porn, what use do strip clubs offer?

yeah but god man socializing is so hard

i have to put on clothes and stuff and get out of the house

edit: you guys know that strippers are real people, right? why talk to something you could fap to, I guess

A couple of the ones I've talked to basically get a thrill out of doing it because it's tantalizing and safe, and they get paid on top of it. If that's your thing it sounds like a sweet gig.

Strip clubs are cool every now and then, and the people who worked there were friendlier than you'd expect. Got my friends a free round and everything.

If you mean male stripper clubs, those have been more disappointing. And creepier, even.

Meh come down to my city and you can get away with not putting on clothes. Not because they can't say anything just most of the time the police won't care, that or the majority of time they just aren't around to enforce anything anyway. Just get in the car butt naked and depending on the joint they may even let you in for free if naked.

Yep thats why I suggested to her vegas where they at least higher some decent male strippers. Other than that male strippers don't give you the same feeling when actually stripping anyway so its probably meh either way. Better to just go to a gay bar and dance.

Here is something .... interesting

While that is a nice blog and some post are legit a nice number of them are assumptions if i've ever seen them.
