Given the new trend toward ethnic nationalism, what does this mean for globalization

That's actually the question for my paper. I have to develop a thesis from that

This isn't really a shortcut to have you guys write my paper for me -- it is fifteen pages long

But I'd like to know what your thoughts are, since I have so few myself. It's hard to begin researching when practically nothing deals directly with the question. I can find many things on instances of ethnic nationalism and anti-globalization, but not much on the consequences for globalization.

So what do you think?

Will globalization eventually hit a snag and recede, for ethnic groups are resisting it?

Will it continue to go forward, meanwhile assimiliating everyone into a virtually homogenized culture?

I think it's pretty evident what's happening with globalization.

That is, we're all been divided up along social classes... ultimately, it'll be such that the world will feel very globalized to the top 5% of the rich, or some such, while the rest of the people continue to feel quite segregated along national lines, even though the conditions they face might be quite similar; I don't think we'll be in a situation where countries start merging.

Also countries have and will continue to be segregated along class lines... where some countries are almost marked as slave nations and exploitable nations and others as trading partners of culture and processed/manufactured goods.

That said, upper class culture is continually been homogenized towards materialism. As it has been for a long time now.
