Agreed on the ponytail.

Smart of them to have another new ep in two days. Stacking episodes in one week worked for 24, don't know why more shows don't do it.
competing with other top shows. but there aren't that many right now. (not that i know of)

LOL at Karofsky completely shutting down the "bad guy in the next episode" assumption.

Ew at Finn and Quinn back together. Finn is so empty in all ways.

Or maybe the show will forget Quinn and whatshisface were together.

DMPrince said:
YES. there's a chance Sam will be with Kurt!
Oh, I completely forgot about those rumours.

Good, Blaine deserves to be hooked up with someone better.

Koodo said:
Kurt isn't an honest portrayal of anything, unless you consider fairy tale solutions to problems honest.

He's also a horrible person, and not nearly as amusingly horrible as Rachel.

The only positive thing about Kurt is his existence as a gay character on TV, but that's it. He's not progressing any deeper cause than that, much less being an inspiration for the bullied.

Well, I honestly don't think he's a horrible person - I think things people tend to single out like the inappropriate flirtation with Finn last season have just been examples of character flaws and have (mostly) been addressed as such. And personally, the "fairy tale" nature of Dalton bothers me a lot less than the broader problem of keeping Kurt segregated from the rest of the cast,* thus forcing the writers to find excuses to shoehorn an appearance from him and a Warblers number into each episode.

I also sometimes wonder just how much of the hatred some have for the character is colored by one's views on gay male effeminacy in general, since I know that's the case for a couple of my friends. But maybe that's unfair.

Amazing ep. Giving the bully a chance for redemption is pretty powerful.

Indeed. If you take into account that he threatened his life and molested him in the locker room. Simply Amazing.

All the Karofsky screen time made me realize he's kinda hot actually. Has the actor been anywhere else?

Not in anything as a regular. It's really telling about this show when the closeted bully is the most interesting character in it. =/

I think Karofsky can and should be redeemed (though this episode did way too much to set that up, IMO), but I think he should fade into the background after that. I'm not really worried that the writers will try to make him a love interest for Kurt (god forbid), but the death threat makes it a little hard to envision the two sitting together in the choir room every week.

Was tonight a Ryan Murphy ep? Because it was over-the-top enough to not suck as much as most of his. WHen Glee goes so far off the tracks that it no longer seems to be even *trying* to be real, it can be OK. Tonight was OK.

Epiphany: Glee is like Anime. Good guys become bad and bad guys become good guys, and it doesn't really make sense.

I have missed half this season already, and I was hoping this episode would win me back, but sadly it did not. I think I am out of the show for good. I am sorry folks, but I think I finally broke.

I will pop in once in a while, but I do believe I am done with this show as regular viewing from now on. This episode had some wonderful moments (Brittany as usual), but still fell into all the bad Glee traps for me.

Enjoy the rest of the season, and I will enjoy reading the responses. I just will not be watching the show on a regular basis anymore.

I guess I was the only one that felt a bit uneasy with all that happened? Kurt is stuck at another school and need to watch the performance from the bench while Karofsky gets to perform. If RM really match Kurt with Karosfky then he's a real quack.

lol at this since you're the OP.

You don't need Glee to tell you that.

I thought it was a great episode. I always like it when enemies get together because I'm an idiot and like stuff like that. I honestly don't care what would really happen or not in real life, I just like a good show with some fun songs.

I know. I feel like a traitor since i made the OP. I was really excited for the season, but it didnt take long for me to quickly become disenfranchised with the show. It just seemed that all the bad qualities of the show got amplified and all pretense of story development and character progression got tossed out to sell more merchandise, which is just as I feared. There have been some gems this season for sure, but as a whole I think the honeymoon is over for me.

I forgot to note that the writers didn't even give Kurt a chance to react to Karofsky joining ND - it's weird that they go to such lengths to keep him on the periphery of a storyline that stems entirely from his character. Well, anyone who just can't get enough of the Warblers will love Tuesday's episode!

The show is TV junk food, and I've come to accept that. It's almost always entertaining enough to keep me watching, but genuinely "good" episodes are few and far between... though you still get glimpses of how much better it could be if it had a more consistent creative vision, if characterization didn't drastically shift so much, if the writers stuck to a long-term plan instead of changing storylines based on their own whims and fan requests, etc.

OH MY GOD.

Look at what may be in store for Glee in the future:

It will happen, and it won't shock me at all.

This show has no shame.

No, I don't care that Perez is now "nice". He's still on a whole other level of creepy. Just a show mentioning his name in a show annoys me.

I am just curious, but what did the Warblers song tonight actually have to do with anything other than selling another single and promoting Darren Criss?

Don't watch next episode he sings twice in it.

Wow I'm still mad at the Karosfky :( I was bullied a lot as a kid and what happened simply disgusted me.

Ryan Murphy thinks you're thinking too much.

Oh my god, please NO.

The episode was so freaking entertaining. Sue's tantrum and her cannon letter to Brittany were awesome. I REALLY liked Thriller/Heads Will Roll mash-up. And I didn't think Karofsky would join in the number. Lauren might be my favorite Glee Club member ever.

I actually like Darren Criss and his performances, but I do have to question what function his number tonight provided other than to sell songs.

You're not supposed to question why a random Warblers performance happens with no context and only the thinnest veneer of relevance to any story arc.

Pretty soon they'll just replace Darren Criss' head with an iTunes logo.

Works for me. But I can understand that people who hate the show yet consistently watch might not like...well anything. Lol

Pretty good episode tonight.

LOL @ Bertram Cooper's constant bitching. It makes me realize what a douche I must have sounded like back in the days of the Dollhouse s1 thread.

This was the first episode of Glee I've ever watched. Honestly, I don't get it. Not to hate on the show, I just don't get it. I don't really find it all that funny and the jokes at times seemed a bit forced. I guess the sudden musical/dance sequences are kinda cool, in a weird high school musical meets modern pop music kind of way. But w/e, to each his own. I'll say I at least gave it a shot.

Seriously. At least PhoncipleBone is bowing out. But the other haters still love to pop in and shit up the thread week after week after week.

We get it, bad show, horrible characters, insipid writing. LOL

Actually this one was another Ian Brennan ep.

Probably why I liked it somewhat. Murphy episodes are generally hugely serious with characters acting in horrible ways. Last night was just pleasantly demented and weird.

I still watch the show, for some unknown reason. Even I can't explain why. It was a great show at the outset, and occasionally has flashes of its former self. So perhaps I still have a very small bit of faith that it will get back to its roots, as silly as that sounds.

So yeah, as long as I stick with it, I'll post in here. Sorry if that annoys you, but I couldn't possibly care less.

All day, every day, everyone comes to gaming age to complain. Why do dullards think the glee thread would be any different? Or that it deserves to only be a bastion of positivity, especially in light of the show's lack of quality?

I liked the early episodes of Glee because they were about people. And now the show has clearly jumped the rails and is an absurdist fantasy, but certainly not in any kind of good way.

For my part, the people leveling criticism -- real, thoughtful criticism -- are far and away more interesting than the whiners who complain about them, or the people who gleefully swallow everything the show offers and, worse, defend it.

According to this interview, it isn't as clearcut as it being a singular effort from one writer, even if they're credited. Murphy, Falchuk and Brennan have varying degrees of involvement writing each episode and almost always write for specific characters, which kind of makes the inconsistent characterization more baffling. Brennan supposedly writes the majority of Sue's dialogue, instantly making him my favourite.

I absolutely love Darren Criss (Very Potter Musical) but it just feels like they are forcing him down our throats.

Post all you want. Just be aware that having multiple posts on the same page in a rapid succession decrying how awful something is makes you look rather foolish.

Yes. Quite similar. ;)

Fun episode this time. Nothing altogether stellar, though.

I will still lurk, and catch some bits and pieces here and there. I still feel kind of bad for bowing out because I still remember how brilliant the show used to be. And there are still flashes of brilliance here and there.

Blaine and The Warblers need to be removed from the show ASAP. That whole number was so awfully cringe-inducing that it made me immediately hate everything about those characters.

Sue's melt down in the office and then to the locker room had me rolling.

I thought it was a great episode. After such a long wait for a new episode it's great to be able to be excited every week for another again.

What year in high school are most of the cast supposed to be? At some point in season 3 or 4 they have to graduate right? I really hope they don't try to milk it for anything more with a whole new cast of up and comers, but sadly that's probably what is destined to be.
