True but if it was releasing on 2021 then they would have shown us more than just a logo in that trailer but we got nothing, not even CG trailer, which made it very obvious that it wasn't going to make the 2021 release date.
Between 1st, 2nd party, AAA 3rd party exclusives of all kinds, 3rd party indie exclusives of all kinds and multis with marketing deals and the console launch, Sony had a very packed H2 2020 and H1 2021, and will have a H2 2021 too.
They had many games to promote before Horizon 2 and GoW that would have looked worse if showed more of GoW and Horizon 2 back then. It has been better for them to focus on the games they had closer to release during H2 2020 and H1 2021, and then once released then they will be able to move their focus to the next ones.
This algo gave them hype bullets for now: they showcased Ratchet and Horizon 2 gameplay and people is amazed. Once they do the same with GoW (I bet this Sony big summer event probably at E3, EVO or Gamescom) it will happen the same, we're going to shit our pants.
If they would have shown GoW and Horizon 2 gameplay last year now in summer Sony would have less hyping news stuff to show and people would have seen games like Returnal or Demon's Souls in another way.
In addition to this, the closer they are to launch, the more similar to the final game is the gameplay shown, so there will be less downgrade complains. They only shown a logo because they wanted to do so, not because they didn't have anything. If they wanted, they could have announced GoWR back in 2018 with a CG trailer.
